GreetNwin changes - effective 8/1

From a pop-up on the GNW site:

"SWEEPSTAKES CHANGES: Through 7/31/2001, greetNwin will continue to have hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly drawings. Starting 8/1, all sweepstakes entries will be applied only towards our annual $1,000,000 drawing. All entries to the Annual Drawing earned prior to 8/1 will still be valid. Check back for new and exciting additional sweepstakes in the coming months, only at greetNwin! Check our Official Rules for more information. "

Ohhhhhh, I was just coming here to post this!! What SAAAAAAAD news!!! I knew it wouldn't last forever but I was hoping for a little longer! Dang!!

Looks like their Bank runeeth dry, How sad it tis, I wonder if they are gonna let us spend our points or is that a farce. I spend alot of time there and I can;t even win the hourly prize there. hmmm. Now its not gonna happen after July. and is the Million bucks a farce? are they really gonna draw a winner. sho does got me thinking after suffering now with Carpel Tunnel in Clicker Finger.

I quess we will have to start a "Hold after the 31st list!" I have 900 and some tickets to open yet, but I think I will keep trying for the million, keep sending me those cards! Maybe they will give away prizes like toasters, or coffee makers or something....who knows!

I was worried when I noticed they have very few advertisers on their site, if any. I couldn't imagine where the sweepstakes money was coming from...

Look at IWon's site as a comparison - loaded with advertisements!

Oh well, we've got a little less than a week to win it BIG!!

This always seemed just a little too good to be true. I'm really curious about what exactly happened with this site - yes #1 where the money was coming from but also #2 why they've changed it. I mean, did they plan all along to only have the daily/weekly/monthly drawings for a couple of months, or did they ONLY JUST YESTERDAY use a calculator and figure out how much this was going to cost them?

Although It's disappointing, it was kind of expected. I'm happy we've had as many winners as we have!

Now we'll just have to wait around and see what's next. I'm all for winning weekly prizes too!

For some reason I thought I read before that this would end 073101 (unless it was just a nightmare I had). I don't remember if I read it in the rules or not. I really didn't think they could continue giving out that kind of money forever.

If you start a "no more cards after the 31st" list, add me to it. I don't think I can keep this up for an 'annual' prize. Too bad. I had high hopes for this site. I remember seeing in my US Weekly entertainment magazine, pictures of a bunch of famous people who attended a party celebrating "the launch of greetnwin.com". I was kinda hoping that was a good sign, that they had money to spend on a glitzy party with a bunch of stars. Oh well, keeping my fingers crossed........

Yeah, I know, just wanted everyone else to have a chance to win til next year...just isn't fair. Maybe they will have some good prizes instead of cash?
