I am a little lost though as to how to go about geting the most out this site. It seems like you have to do certian things at certian times of the day and I am a little overwhelmed by all the posts. It seems like there are "rules" that people at DOD have and I don't want to do things the worng way. Is there a simplified system? I'd appreciate any help.

There are several ways of getting points: sending cards, answering surveys, clicking on ads and also by having a greetnwin email. The only rule I know of that DOD people have asked, is not sending cards on Sat. and Sun. so people can catch up on their card opening. (I have 430 tickets to open yet! EEEK!) I suggest getting the greetnwin email address and then you get 4 points instead of the usual 3 per card. It is time consuming, I usually do everything at once....I dont try to get points at different times of the day for the hourly, (only because I can only use my computer in early morning hours! Kids!) I do some at like 10 minutes before and after an hour to get points in each hour. You only get 150 points a day so use them in any combination you want. I havent won anything so maybe Im the wrong person to give the advice here! Maybe one of the recent $1000 winners would like to give some of their statagies? The rest of us need some help!

There are acouple of things you may want to pay attention to - First, when sending the cards to the people on the DOD list (there is athread that contains all the names and e-mails), please put in your fist card or two something in the subject line to indicate that you are new and want to be added to the list - that way, people can add you fairly quickly. Second, just as there is a list of people that want added, there is a list of people that requested to stop (at least temporarily) the cards. Usually because they are behind (some of us have 300 cards waiting! - dod members are too efficient), or because of vacation. So you may want to watch that as well. However, I would not woory too much - people here are very understanding that it can be too much information, and some may lag behind. We are just trying to help each other out. Welcome to the circle of card senders! |

ok..another question: What benefit is there to sending cards? MAybe I a not understanding this but we only get 150 entries a day right? Why not just do 25 of the 2-second surveys to get your 150pts? Or is there another benefit to the cards? (other than spreading happiness of course!) Also, where are the banner ads? Am I just completely missing them? Thanks everyone! |

The banner ads are in the very top left hand corner and at the bottoms of the pages. I must have done all the surveys at first because I no longer have them at all. You could probably do just the banner ads or the surveys to get your entries(I don't know if they give the points, although they haven't completed that section yet)

Someone else on the board mentioned that they have no more surveys - so I assume there is a limited number of them. The banner ads are either at the top of the page (usually on the left) and state in small print that by clicking you will get 5 entries). I think that there are also banners at the bottom. I guess part of the reason we send cards is because it is fun! and you can connect with your fellow DOD members! |
