How to Enter: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. There are two ways to enter.

(1) To enter on-line, log on at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] Fill in the on-line entry form and submit it in accordance with the on-screen instructions during the Sweepstakes Period.

(2) to enter by mail, hand print your full name, address, city, state, zip code, age, day and evening phone numbers and e-mail address (if applicable) on a 3x5 piece of paper and mail your card in an envelope to: Universal Records/The Source Sweepstakes c/o Universal Records, 1755 Broadway, New York, NY 10019 Attention: Universal Records/The Source Sweepstakes Entries / New Media Department. On-line entries must be received between November 5, 2002 12:00 PST and March 3, 2003 11:59 PST. Each mail-in entry must be stamped and mailed separately, postmarked by March 3, 2003 and received by March 7, 2003. One entry per person. Multiple entries will be disqualified. Entries generated by script, macro, bot, or other automated means will be disqualified. If you are under the age of 18, you must obtain your parent or legal guardian’s consent to enter this sweepstakes. Any entry information collected from the sweepstakes shall be used only in a manner consistent with the consent given by entrants at the time of entry and with Universal Records' On-line Privacy Policy, which can be found at: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Eligibility: You must be a lawful permanent resident of the United States and be at least 13 years old or older as of your date of entry. Sweepstakes void in Puerto Rico, U.S. Territories and possessions, outside of the U.S., and where prohibited by law. The Sweepstakes and any web site pages and advertisements relating thereto, are intended for viewing only within the United States. You are not authorized to participate in the Sweepstakes if you are not located within the United States. Employees and agents of The Universal Music Group, Universal Records, The Source Magazine and each of their respective affiliate, subsidiary, and parent companies, and advertising and promotions agencies and their immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, children and their spouses) are ineligible to enter or win.
Prizes: One Grand Prize Winner will receive 2 Technics SL-1200M3D Turntables, a Technics SH-MX1200 Mixer and Technics RPDJ1200A Headphones. Approximate retail value: $2,000.00. 3 second prize winners (1 drawn every 30 days of the sweepstakes period), will receive a Source Prize Pack which includes The Source Jacket, The Source Knapsack, The Source Hat, The Source T-Shirt, a 1 year subscription to The Source and The Source compilation CD (approximate retail value of $200.00 each) and a CD Prize Pack from Universal Records to include 20 CDs from various Urban Music artists (approximate retail value of $379.60 ($18.98 x 20)). The Grand Prize Winner and Second Prize Winners shall sometimes be referred to hereinafter as the “Winner.” No transfer, substitution or cash alternative permitted, except by Sponsor in its sole discretion. If the winning entry was made on-line, the entry will be deemed submitted by the e-mail account holder associated with such entry, as solely determined by Sponsor. Installation, insurance, registration, taxes, and any fees or costs associated with the prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winner (or his or her parent or legal guardian) will be required to complete and return an IRS W-9 form. Prize is awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied. Winner agrees to look solely to manufacturer for any warranties on the equipment awarded.
Drawing and Notification: Winner will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries received, on or about February 11, 2003 by Sponsor or its designee, whose decisions will be final. Winner will be notified by e-mail and/or by phone on or about February 11, 2003. If Sponsor or its designee is unable to contact potential Winner by e-mail or phone (using the contact information provided at the time of entry) and/or if the potential Winner fails to respond to notification within two (2) business days of issuance, the potential Winner will be disqualified and forfeit his or her right to a prize, and an alternate Winner will be selected.

General: Within ten (10) days of the date of the notification letter, the potential Winner (or his or her parent or legal guardian if he or she is a minor) will be required to execute (and have his or her signature notarized) an affidavit of eligibility, general release of liability and consent (in writing, if requested) to the use of his or her name, voice, likeness, and/or photograph, and biographical information for promotional purposes, including on-line announcements, without additional compensation of any kind, except where prohibited by law. If the Winner is a minor in his or her state of legal residence, the Winner will be awarded in the name of the Winner’s parent or legal guardian. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received by Sponsor.

Limitations of Liability: Sponsor, The Universal Music Group, The Source Magazine, any Internet access providers, each of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their agents, officers, directors, shareholders, employees, and agents (collectively “Released Parties”) disclaim any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate entry of entry information, human error, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof, inability to access any web site or download materials, damage to a user's computer system (hardware & software) due to participation in this sweepstakes, or late, lost, incomplete, misdirected, mechanically reproduced, illegible or postage due entries or mail. If in the opinion of Sponsor, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of this sweepstakes, or if technical difficulties compromise the integrity of this sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right to terminate this sweepstakes, and award the prize from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received as of the action requiring such termination. Any attempt to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the sweepstakes is unlawful and subject to legal action by the Sponsor or its designees. Entrants agree to hold harmless the Released Parties from and against all claims and damages arising in connection with their participation and/or entry in this sweepstakes and/or the awarding or use of any prize awarded.
Winners List: For the name of the Winner, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Universal Records: Universal Records/The Source Sweepstakes / 1755 Broadway, New York, NY 10019 Attention: New Media Department. Requests received after April 7, 2003 will not be honored. This sweepstakes shall be governed by the laws of state of New York in the United States of America and is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. Void where prohibited by law.
