After reading about the frustrating time many of you are having with the Toys R Us deal, I tried out other computers here. We have 2 PCs and 2 Macs, so I could see if maybe using a different computer or browser made any difference here. For me, Netscape still works better - the only time it didn't was on the older Mac.

And yes, there was a spot in putting in the shipping info where it hung on *EVERY* computer - so it's their site that has some nasty coding errors in it. Now YMMV on which browser to use, it all depends on your machine.

After I tried out all the machines here, I tried calling their customer service. I explained that I'd been to the website, and the types of problems I'd encountered. I also told them that some of my friends couldn't place an order since the system was hanging up so badly on them and that one on WebTV couldn't get in at all. The woman on the other end (I forgot to get her name) was great and suggested that you just go ahead and call in your order. She said to mention that the website wasn't working properly and tell them that you are a new customer and want the $10 off deal.

Big plus... even though I'd already placed an order, and told the cs that I had and was calling for friends who couldn't get an order in, the cs told me she'd mark me as new again and gave me another $10 credit Staples should take a lesson from TRU

Hey - I finally got it! I think? We'll see if it comes thru!

I took somebody's advice and tried using Internet Explorer - it worked much better with the site in general - I got al the way up to Submit Your Order, and then it hung up on twice - I tried clicking on Express Checkout and I almost croaked when it went thru!

BUT (and this is scary) my confirmation came back not only with my total and card #, but also with three other totals and card#'s (all xx'd out except last four digits) - Wonder who will get what and who will pay for it!

Funny about the IE working, could it be that Microsoft hold on the market? My computer came with IE as default, but I put Netscape on since I found it easier to use.

What a mess! After I got that order finally thru and got that messed up order confirmation, I then got an e-mail confirmation addressed to "Dear Kim" (that's not me!) with a different order number. I went into my order history at their site, and my order was there and everything looked fine - SO I decided to wait and see.

As of today, I still had not received a shipping confirmation, so I decided to call them.

I ended up spending another HOUR on the phone with them - their reps are very nice though.

After walking thru this nightmare with one girl and trying to figure out the #'s, I thought we had it all straigtened out, but she wanted me to talk to someone else because of the concern over the three other cc#'s on my order.

So now the next girl informs me that my order was cancelled! She tried to tell me that I called in and cancelled it! Yeah right, after I spent about 10 hours just to get it ordered!

Now she did replace the order, but the sale prices had expired on the games, so I'm being charged full price, and then I'm suppose to get credited back. I also told her that I needed the $10 credit applied, and she said that would have to be a credit back also, since the computer now says that this is not my "first" order! (I don't even want to think about having to fight them over the new min $25 purchase!)

After my hour conversation (thank goodness it's on their dime!), I sent off a lengthy e-mail letting them know just how aggravated I was with them - I also mentioned how easy my shopping was at KB Toys!). I went thru this whole thing step by step, and asked for confirmation on these credits, cuz now my total charge is $23.34 for what started out as $4.31 !! What a bargain, eh?

On the brighter side, my daughter ordered an item on Sunday 10/24, the order went thru fine, and it was delivered on Wednesday, 10/27!

My kids better appreciate these toys after it has taken me like eleven hours just to order them!

Well, unfortunately, us WebTVers still can't access the Toys R Us site. At least I can't. I can get to the homepage, but when I try to go any further than that, it shuts my WebTV terminal down and causes it to power off. Can't call my order in because I can't look around their site to see what I want to buy. *Sigh*, oh well, glad to know some of you were able to enjoy their bargain.
