| Ebates can kiss my beehind!
Thank you for writing. In looking at your confirmation, I see a coupon was used. Some merchants (like Booksamillion) do not allow the combination of coupons and Ebates, and thus eliminated Ebates from the ordering process. Since the merchant will not pay us a commission, we have no rebate to pass on to you. I apologize for the inconvenience. Here is the FAQ link that explains this: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] Regards, Ryan Customer Care Ebates This is a daggum lie. I have used their 5 off coupons many many times and used Ebates in conjunction and now they're giving me bull that theyre not getting the commission, and thus not passing the bucks onto me? Im soooo p.o. @ ebates. I buy soooooo much from Booksamillion and never had this problem before. Ebates is just giving me crap cuz they forgot to credit me the damn rebates. B.F.S. ARGGGGGGGGGHHHH

Since I whined too much, he finally credited my account with the purchase before coupons, taxes, and s&h. Im guessing if you follow up with an email or two, they will credit your amount Jeff. _________________________________________________ Thank you for responding. We do not change the policy regarding coupons, but the merchant does. They might have changed policy for a short period for undisclosed reasons. As a sign of good faith, I will go ahead and credit this order for the value of $40.99 (as shipping, tax and coupons are not eligible for rebates). Please be aware that merchant policy can change at any time, and so we recommend only using coupons from our "Coupons and Specials" page, as these are guaranteed to work. Regards, Ryan Customer Care Ebates

After many emails & a fax, they finally agreed to put the $73.xx back into my account. Then, mysteriously, the day before checks were to be cut, the amount disappeared from my account again! This time, they told me that it was too long ago to get the money back into my account - it was too bad, so sad for me. I've since heard that they've done the same thing to a number of people. I can't stand eBates - too many lies! |

I look at ebates as kind of "the money found on the sidewalk" thing. If I remember to use them- fine, If I get the money-fine too. I'm not gonna hold my breath and I would NEVER buy something through them just so I could get a rebate. I don't even figure in the rebate when calculating who has the best deal. In fact, several times I bought elsewhere because the price was a lot lower for those places who DIDN'T use ebates. Hmmmm?? I wonder about that - are the rebates REALLY rebates or just a ploy???

Im sorry to hear that Kat. My main use to get money back had been through ebates. I buy too many books and I found that Booksamillion had the lowest prices for new books. But when I had any trouble with Ebates, it had been with that same merchant. I dont know why, but I guess they are slow when it comes to crediting my account... But I will probably stick to mypoints now instead of getting the money at Ebates..

Ebates is on my "you-know-what list" for a different reason. I have suddenly been getting bombared with spam in my box. A few of them said that "to unsubscribe" and had my ebates.com email address. Most of it is "underage porn" and places like lotto places. Stuff I have NEVER EVER EVER even visited. And Dh has no clue of that email (and he wouldn't have visited them anyway) Well, I NEVER used it for anything but Ebates, and I only shopped at Barnes and Nobels through Ebates... one time about a year and half ago. And that purchase was with my real email address, not that ebates address. I wrote them a NASTY letter saying that it was obvious that they were selling, renting or whatever my address, and to cancel the address immediately. They wrote back acting like they never did it, that I put myself on all these lists and that they would cancel the address. Of course, I still get email bounced from that address. What sucks is I do block it, but they have so many fake addresses that you can't block everything. Ebates is obviuosly now selling information to make themselves more profitable. |
