Warning I am venting so feel to ignore this!

Ok we are guilty at some time for this. I try as much as I can BEFORE posting a freebie to the board useing the search. But in the last few weeks I see the same thing on the board that I have just posted the day before copy and pasted!

Ok so a few times I have screwed up and not used the search. But come on when it is on the front page and other good post are falling off! I keep trying to go back and bump them up but why bother if no one is going to read the rules?

All I am asking is PLEASE use the search before posting! And read the board right in front of your eyes! I am tired of trying to bump up all the good post just so someone can get credit for adding more posts for them self!!!!!!! Ok I am done venting and will climb off my soap box and back in my hole in the ground.

Misha, I agree completely! While I don't post deals very often (so the concern of who gets credit doesn't concern ME as much), I find it frustrating having to wade through zillions of posts that are virtually identical.

Searching doesn't take very long!

That is my point. I really do not care that I get a point for posting,But come on now why the heck do we need to wade through all the junk? Gosh I just looked at the freebies again now and it happened again! For now on it seems to be a waste of time. I just want us all to get the freebies as fast as we can who the hecks cares who posted it. But people are not even reading what the heck they are posting.

I agree. I find it annoying to see double and even triple posting on the same thing, especially when they're all on page 1.

One thing I should mention is that search doesn't always work. I posted a Drugstore link for free shipping. After the offer expired, I found a new link so rather than start a new post I thought I'd search for the old one and add to it. I used the search feature and it came up with nothing relevant. I went through a few pages to "manually" find my post.

I agree that we do need to search before posting to see if it has previously been posted, the only problem is like Loca mentioned, it does no good if the search isn't really working. It seems like most of my searches come up empty, but then I can't believe that someone else hasn't already posted what I was going to, but I go ahead and post it.

Misha, I can understand your frustration of seeing something you just posted, posted again by someone else. It's happened to me, too, as well as many others. The thing you have to remember is that we are here to find these freebies, deals, etc. and share them, not to fight over who gets credit for the post. That's not what this place is about. Please don't feel you are being cheated in any way. This is a family, not a competition.

I too have stoped posting on the freebie board for this reason .. and it being that I have found that if you have done a form for a freebie and later did it again, chances are you are ruining the chance of getting either one

but I have found that the search feature does not ALWAYS work ~ and sometimes people dont go through the first few pages to see if it has been posted
