Angry Don't trust Ebates.com anymore!!!

Do anyone of you remember the $15 ebates rebate given by Etour.com? They actually promise $15 return if we register thru the link given in the email send to us and make purchase thru ebates.com. I did that 3 days ago, do according to what they instructed....registered thru the link given and used the same email address which I had registered with Etour.com and make a purchase with half.com thru ebates.com. But the $15 which they promised did not show in my account after all that!!! The CS from ebates.com reply after I wrote to them, saying that I did not register thru the link given!!! What a XXX!!! I did every step which I was asked to do and they give me such unreasonable answer.

I thought I can save $15 after buying a text book from half.com for $50......and now I have to save from my lunch.

....and I heard someone has the same problem with that promotion too, so just be careful.

Twice I've taken advantage of Ebates "double discount" where they double the rebate during a short period of time. One with with Cooking.com and one was with Ebags. Both times they said I didn't click through Ebates I was very careful to go through Ebates because I wanted the discount.

My trust in them is pretty shakey.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with Ebates.

On the positive side, I have used the site for more than a year and never had any problems. I think they handled the CyberRebate mess as well as could be expected and I have never suffered any missed e-bates from them.

One thing to be aware of, some merchants won't pay the e-bate if you also use a coupon or other promotion at their site (i.e. no double-dipping). I think someone posted earlier that JCPenny is an example. OTOH, I have found some sites will honor both a coupon and the e-bate on the balance (I believe Barnes & Noble is one such). It is up to the merchant to determine this and it's not easy for you to find out ahead of time.

Again, sorry to hear you have had problems, but I wanted to put in my personal vote for Ebates.

I've been with eBates for about 2 years now, and I, too, have never had any problems. One thing to consider, when clicking through links.........make sure you if you lose your connection in the middle of things, that you start over, through eBates. This may or may not affect whether it registers with eBates that you clicked through them.

Yes I understand that too, I am very good in all these 'cos I have been buying ton of stuffs online since I started surfing. When I make that particular order, everything went smoothly and I have not used additional promotion or coupon. So it shouldn't be a problem too. It is possible that there might be some problem with their link too, I do web site too and I know sometimes certain code could be written wrongly without anyone knowing it.

Anyway, I don't think I will ever buy from them again.

But, greentea, you have nothing to lose by buying through them, unless, of course, you use other rewards programs and you can buy from the same store through those instead.

You don't buy from them, you buy through them, so if I were you, I'd just go through them anyway and if you get the eBate reward, so much the better!

Just a thought!! Sorry you had problems with them.

I have had that problem too, I go in thru Ebates but then the Ebate information disappears so I don't know whether or not it is still linked to them. I was ordering a large TV last year through Walmart and some other things as well so to make sure whenever the Ebates info disappeared I went out and back in through Ebates. A real pain but I wanted to make sure I got the rebate. Guess what, got nothing, emailed them and after several automated responses which really did not address the problem they told me that if you have anything in your shopping cart when you go in to a site the order doesn't count with Ebates. I gave up on them, figured I'd rather take a sharp stick in the eye than to have to use their site anymore.

Well THAT stinks! But I'm not sure they are telling the truth on that one. I usually shop and put stuff in my cart first, then go through eBates and I've always gotten my credit. Hmmmmmmm. This is interesting!

I signed up for the e-tour promotion and received $5.00 on registering and the other $10.00 is to appear after your purcahse. I e-mailed them after a B & N purchase had posted. They sd they were working on putting the promos through and should be in the account in 2 weeks

Might want to be patient and if nothing shows in account e-mail them through their site I have received very quick responses, better than milesource or giantrewards
