Two weekends ago, a hotel in Charleston refused my cityspree GC and I had to pay full price for the room. I verified with the 800 twice that they would take the GC. I have emailed cityspree 3 times now and haven't gotten a response. Anyone have any advice on how to handle them? Thanks! Tracir

I have had no luck with them. I spent over 300.00 on their cert's back in February adn have been trying to get a response from them ever since. I had bought a hotel cert. as well for orange county ca and then I called they said they were no longer accepting them bc they had "had some problems with cityspree"and not getting their money from them so they were not going to honor my cert. They gave me a number for a woman named christin who is the rep they dealt with. I called her and left a message which she replied to on my machine saying that she "had no idea why I was calling her as she could not help me". I still have the message saved.

I also have had problems with City Spree. I have certificates I ordered over 1 1/2 mths ago that I have NEVER received. I have emailed several times and have never received a response. I finally emailed them today and said I would contact the NYS attorney generals office if I did not hear a response back. They are located in Vestal, NY(a small town outside of Binghamton). I did a WHOIS search and came up with this: Anne Stanton is the CEO/Founder Her email address is [Only registered and activated users can see links. | Here's what I know
I have spoken to Anne Stanton and emailed with her several times this week. They are selling off their assets and down to 3 employees and the one who handles the emails has been out of the office for the last couple of weeks. Anne is great and she has the $$ herself+ some investors to buy the company in the next couple of weeks and keep it going. If you want, email me at: fill me in with what's going on and I will relay to Anne. I have her personal email and cell phone but I don't feel comfortable giving that information out since she trusted me with the contact information. I am very confident in her plans to the point I have offered to work with her in the event she gets things under her control and try to get the service back to the standard she wants it to be at. She is so nice and wants to clear up any problems people are having. Hope this helps. Tracir

| Who knows what is going on
I will be deleting this thread this evening- I will email her and let her know that people are getting angry and it you contacted me then I will forward the information to her. I can only go by what she told me and I was trying to help. I agree that they shouldn't be promoting the website if they are in this much trouble- I told her that last week. I told her that people don't know at first glance at the site that anything is wrong. I was trying to help but I am not going to get tangled in this mess. I really don't know what I can do anyway.
