Angry

A few months ago I received a $25 GC for Amazon merchandise. I did not intend on spending it so I redeemed it and saved it into my account. I threw out the paper certificate assuming my GC was safe in my Amazon account.
I decided to use it recently and checked my account. It showed me a balance of $0.00 instead of $25.
I wrote to them but they did not give me a satisfactory answer. Instead they said I could take my business elsewhere if their policy did not satisfy me.
I am not spending a penny at Amazon anymore.

Did you try going through the checkout process *almost* to the end??
I cannot see my "credits" in my Amazon account either....until I am checking out and where you put in a promo code it will say~ you have xx.xx in GCs, do you want to apply to this order? Check it out..maybe it IS still there! Good Luck!

GCs expire in some states. Could that be it?

dejavu is right. Sometimes, you can see the balance WHILE you are checking out rather than check your GC balance. Go ahead and add something and continue with check out.......u might see the balance.

Can't complain here...!

Even though a couple of times I have lost my certificates or not purchased at the last minute and lost them; i can always get new one from many different offers posted at DOD

I wouldnt mind losing one... Just get another one by referring someone to Amazon (sign upo first!)

I have had this happen to me too...more than once.

I figured that the gift certificates had expired.

I have had bad experiences with Amazon and gift certificates. I tried to clear up the problems with cs but they said that I had already received many good deals with Amazon and that they could not help me. I was insulted.

Yep, it's not really the loss of a $25 credit, but the TLC (Total Lack of Concern lol) that Customer 'service' shows customers.

Sometimes I swear that some companies should call it
Customer Disservice instead.

I don't know why they are unable to realize what their 'saving' $25 bucks actally COSTS their companies over the long haul.
They lost a customer, and in turn she'll tell all her friends how she was ill treated and they'll lose her friends as customers too.

If they lose a customers business, that's thousands of dollars over the long run.

Companies, wake up!

DUHHHH!
