Did anyone else have trouble with the using the amazon MCI gift certificate before it expired? I tried to use one of the two amazon/MCI gift certificates before it expired. I could not get the gift certificate to work. I tried placing orders only to cancel them because the gift certificate would not apply. I called customer service and they told me that although I could not see the gift certificate, it was indeed there and would be applied. He even read the gift certificate numbers off for me. Well, I finally placed an order and e-mailed customer service to apply the gift certificate because it did not show up as a discount. Now, I am told that I could not have two MCI gift certificates. I was totally up front with MCI when I switched phone services. One MCI gift certificate was for a business line and the other a personal line. I know other people were able to spend more than one gift certificate. Does any one have any ideas? I feel cheated out of $150.00. I don't think they should have told me it would be applied and then turn around and deny me that after I have placed an order. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I trust your judgement.

I know you can't use both of the GC's together, but I don't know why you couldn't use them on different orders. I would try using the other one under your husband or another trusted persons name. I know I have gotten Amazon GC's for my husband and I use them under my account and my name. I hope this helps a little.

Lori0963 I appreciate your help. I tried to use the gift certificate under my husbands name when it would not work under my name. It kept saying that the gift certificate had been redeemed. Now the gift certificate is expired. I have called and e-mailed my complaints but I don't seem to be getting anywhere. I was under the impression that MCI was the company that paid for the gift certificates. Why would Amazon make the decisions on who can use them and who can not? |

jmanullang I still have both gift certificates from MCI. They are both different numbers. I too got the message that it had already been redeemed when I went to spend the second one. I know some people were able to spend multiple gift certificates. I don't understand why Amazon is policing for MCI if MCI already purchased the gift certificates from Amazon. I never tried to take advantage of MCI. Thanks for the good luck! |

The only thing I can think of for you to do is to open another Amazon account with a different email address, and put it in your spouses, or childs name and make just a small variation on the address, like where I live, there are 2 houses on the same lot, so I will put A or B and make it look like an apartment number or someting. It works. Then you shouldnt have a problem using the gc. And you could even send yourself a promotional gc to use with it and get another one for doing that. lol. Good luck. Donna
