HELP !!!

I am really mad and need you guys help. You know how we sign up for magazines that are free ? Well I signed up for Cosmogirl like 3 months ago. CosomoGirl kept sending me bills but I ignored them cause I was sure that the mag was suppose to be free. Well today I read the bill and they want to put it on my credit !!! Now you know I am VERY mad !!! What can I do ??? I am young do not need to have bad credit !! And here is another story !!! I signed up with netflip and I got some books ... netflip said the would pay for them. I got a bill in the mail wanting 15.00 for shipping. Netflip was suppose to do that and now I am going to have that also on my credit!!! Sheeeeeeeshhhh. Is there anything I can do ??

But here it goes... if you have your confirmation # than there is an 800 # for u to call -- DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS thats why i am no help but i am sure if you do a search on here under maybe "Barnes & Noble" or "free magazines subscription" maybe the chats about everyone receiveing their postcards which they thought were bills will pop up and the 800 # should be listed in there. :O) Hope i helped a little bit...;o) WAS IT THROUGH BARNES AND NOBLE THAT YOU GOT THE FREE MAG. SUBSCRIPTION???

I know this may not help either, but here's the email I received about the Barnes and Noble magazine subscription I requested, altho I haven't gotten a single mag yet..nor have I got another postcard/bill. I received this 1-04-01

Well, usually when you get a free mag they are sending you the first one or two or however many free and then they bill you for the rest of the year. If you dont want any more, then you need to write cancel on the bill and mail the bill back. That way, they know that you are not paying for it. Also, if you want, you can put a little nasty note in the envelope saying that it was a free subscription and you refuse to pay. That usually takes care of it right there. At work, we take orders for many of those informercials and alot of them, have that FINE PRINT if you know what I mean. And on those free issues of mag's you have to write cancel on the bill and mail the bill back to them in order to cancel future issues. Because you ignored the bills is why they are putting it on your credit. Contact the credit reporting agency and tell them that you dispute it and it will be taken care of. But you have to dispute itt before anything will happen. And also take one of the bills and write them a note to the mag company and tell them what is going on and that you refuse to pay it.

Cosomogirl had a 1-800-number and I called them and the are going to cancel it... now I am going to deal with qpb.con ... wish me luck :-0

Not to worry..Blossom...this will not go on your credit report.....they would have to have your social security #
and they would have to go thru collections. It costs more to put it thru collections than your subscription is even worth!! So, Really .....its okay.....

In most cases you have to read the fine print. The offers are usually for a 3 month TRIAL subscription and you have to cancel before the 3 months are up. You should send the bills back marked "please cancel". Seems like you are still in a trial period anyway and you can still cancel.

I agree that it will not affect your credit rating. Unless, of course, you did happen to give them your SS#. In any case, a simple phone call or letter will have them cancelling the charges.
