Overstock Highest Price Guranteed

I just made the mistake of buying form overstock.com myself. I bought a JVC GPS system for $338. The next day a co-worker laughed at me and said the same system was $179 at CompUSa. Sure enough he was right. I put in a request for refund under their "best price gurantee" and was told no can do since the CompUSA price was a "sales promotion". Never mind that CompUSA's regular price for this same unit is $199--$140 lower the Oversotck's price. They did give me a $104 in store credit basded on Amazon's regular price of $229 but of course this credit isn't worth $104 since I know ralize how overpriced overstock.com is. Never again. The only major store I found more expensive than overstock on this item was Best Buy. Should have done more research. I let myself get suckered by teir e-mail, the fact that they only showed 1 left in stock and the $729 MSRP price they list which nobody comes close to charging. I lose even if I reutrn the unopened package since they charge a 15% restocking fee. Before you even think of buying from these conartists you need look no further than ripoffreport.com

yeah, i got into a fight with one of their retarded support staff guys over the best price garuntee. basically they have a "list" that nobody can see, except overstock.com, and if your company isnt on this invisible list, then too bad, your out X ammount of $$. so they could rule out bestbuy, walmart, or even amazon.com if they wanted to, no, wait, the allmighty "list" knows all, and cannot be edited to save overstock.com $1.14, because that would break no rules. they had an old XFX 5200 AGP video card over there for $140 or something like that. thats insane. i spent less on my X1650 (5200 is office power now, 1650 is for the latest and greatest video games). total ripoffs. this site and [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] i go to for sales and deals. oh, almost forgot, walmart has some nice ones, i just ordered bladder controll diapers with my brother's name on package, hahaha.

Personally, I've had good luck there, esp with coupons and specials. They price under Amazon for many books, and I bought a memory foam mattress pad there for much less than elsewhere that my sons (19 and 21) just love. Perhaps it depends upon which depts you are shopping. And I always start with pricegrabber.com or cnet.com and the like to check net prices first! Hope you all have better luck in the future! J

I agree that the dapartment probably has alot to do with the savings. I have bought some clothing and sports gear at overstock.com for good deals, but I imagine the electornics and such, the margins are so small on those items that there are alwats better deals out there!

Overstock is horrible! Anytime I find something interesting there, I search elsewhere for a better price. My mom constantly shops there. Almost everything is refurbished, not overstock! I've read reviews on their own website that makes me shy away from ever buying anything there!
