Our Experience

We've had similar problems with Stamps.com, and heard of other billing problems. These types of errors seem to happen less frequently now (this is an older post), but these complaints still surface around the net.

For people looking for postage solutions (metered mail from your PC, home, office, or online), we have had LOTS of experience:

Our favorite program was Clickstamp - only $20 per year, printed on 4x6 sheet labels in your laser printer. After several rate hikes & cuts in customer service, this program was discontinued by Pitney Bowes in favor of much higher priced options. (For the last year, only one guy was running the entire customer support -their support is really awful). Anyway, those good old days are GONE.

We tried upgrading to different Pitney Bowes programs & machines. They are all tremendously expensive, and run by high pressure/high commissioned sales people. They will pull all sorts of tricks to get you to stay - swap equipment, offer you free gifts to stay another month, etc. But you will definitely pay ... and if you ever try to cancel & return your equipment, they will play more games. Put you on hold forever, not pick up their equipment, play funny games with your credit card, etc.

So... our favorite, by far, is Endicia.com. Never an ounce of funny business. Plus, you can install their software on multiple computers/multiple users. So you can print your postage from the office and at home, etc.

The best deal for us is the "pro" 12-month plan (the middle grade plan). It costs $174 per 13 months. It's a 12 month plan, but we always find a promo code to get a free month added to our service. Feel free to use this coupon/discount code when you sign up: 635449

And, new users get the 1st month free, so when you add the promo code, you're really getting 14 months. So that's about $12 or $13 a month, which actually pays for itself - you automatically get free access to bulk mail rates for Priority (saves you about 30 cents per packag), and free or discounted tracking (saves another 55 cents per package).

There are cheaper plans - pick the one that works best for you. We like the "pro" plan because it enables "stealth" postage (your customer won't know what you paid for shipping), it enables international postage & automatically fills/prints customs forms, and a few other perks.

You can print on any printer, but we strongly suggest getting a Dymo or Zebra thermal printer. Never worry about ink or toner, and your labels are automatically waterproof. They print fast, you can load great high-res graphics and branding messages on your labels, and you can print hundreds at a time. Labels only cost about 1-2 cents each, if you buy from Amazon or eBay. Plus, these little printers seem to last forever - the duty cycle is amazing. So don't hesitate to buy a used one from eBay or Amazon. So all things considered, the thermal is cheaper and saves you time.

Hope this helps -good luck!

Re: Stamps.com BAD NEWS!!!!!!!!

I have read several cases like this and in my view there is sollution, first of all you must cancel your account from that bank so that they can not acess your account. And it's a good thing that you have warned people so that they should not suffer.
