Dont get your free credit report!!!

I admit it I fell for it. I signed up for my copy of a free credit report(was a joke only had a couple months worth of stuff and a convenient number to call to pay for a more thorough one). The number to call to cancel before your trial period was up is busy 24 hours a day so I emailed them never got a response but got a 69.95 charge on my credit card. Luckily I wont have to pay for it. Why are jerks like this in business? Cant the better business bureau do something?

Similar thing happened to me. I called and got through.. wrote down the date, time and name of the person I spoke with, and still was billed on my credit card. I called both the company and my credit card issuer to complain.. they did agree to take off the charges... but it shouldn't have even gone that far.

Did you know that everytime someone requests a credit check on you (and that includes YOU), that it lowers your credit rating? I was told this by a credit expert at a bank. It has something to do with the fact that if your credit is being checked alot, then it must be in question, and you must be wanting to spend, borrow, etc........
