Thumbs down Buy.com scrooged up again!

This was buy.com's last chance to impress me. I pre-ordered a video game for my son because I had a $10 coupon. The release date was December 12th and I know it released on that date because the stores had it in stock. Well, guess what, not only had they not even shipped it last time I checked, my request for a cancellation has gone unanswered...oh, and they CHARGED MY CARD as well.

Any other company that I have dealt with, including amazon.com has shipped out a pre-order either on the release date or the next day. I cannot understand how they can continue to exist with such incredibly bad service and shipping.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt and that was the last time. You know what they say...fool me once. I hope that others will think twice before using their company. Any perceived savings is definitely not worth the frustration.

Right now I'm out $100 because I had to make DH go out and pick it up for him. This was practically his only present, and I just know I'll be getting a duplicate in the mail...in a few weeks maybe.

Hi,
There is (really), a quick-fix to this. It's happened to me. Call your credit card and tell them what you just wrote. They (or mine do) issue you a credit, effective immediately and then they get in touch with Buy and if necessary, you might need to get in touch with the online better business bureau, but probably not as your credit card company will get in touch with Buy for you and get "their" money back from them - and your order with them will be canceled.

That is very sad to hear. I have only dealt with them once, and I had no problems. Aren't businesses suppose to charge your credit card, on items that are not in stock, once the item is available to be shipped? They should not have charged your card until they were ready to ship the item is my understanding. I hope you get this fixed. Good luck.

That's true. If the item isn't ready to be shipped (as in out the door that day), your credit card is not supposed to be charged. You have no merchandise enroute, therefore, they are not supposed to be charging you.
I buy many things online, especially for soap making and lotions, essential oils and all kinds of things and my credit card is never charged (except for "one" time, when I "did" go to my credit card company and the online BBB), till the order is to be shipped out. They can and do a pre-authorization though, as in making sure that you have the credit available on the card and you get a number for that. That's done immediately, though the card should show no charges on it.

I shop online a lot and buy has screwed me more then once.. I quit shopping there and now go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now], they have better prices and almost always ship the same day, they also have awesome customer service. There are few sites, or stores even out there these days that still treat customers well and that means the world to me. Happy shopping
