Question

Has anyone else had trouble getting their Amazon gift certificate from MCI? A couple of weeks after I signed up with MCI, I received my welcome packet with no GC. Customer service told me "someone forgot to put it in the envelope." After several more phone calls and a couple more weeks having passed, still no GC. Does anyone have any suggestions??

I been having the same problem. I seem to get the run around with them for the past four weeks. I called today and talk to them and they are going to send it to me via email withen 24 hours. we'll see.

I've called them 4 times now, asking over and over for the GC. Their CS seem to be sincere, but it doesnt mean diddly if they dont come through.

I'm in the same boat! General runaround since 12/5 when I switched over. After reading all of your dealings, I called again last night, just to be sure my GC was really on its way. It wasn't. The woman I talked to said since my account hadn't been registered with the code originally (thanks to a jerk of an operator) even though I called back to correct their mistake, they rejected the code and never sent anything out.

Thankfully the operator had two choices. One, have MCI credit me the 150 to my MCI account - HA! I don't THINK SO!
or Two, cancel my original registration and do it again properly. Which she did while we were on the phone. So again I get the 7-10 business days wait... but I'm more hopeful now.

well personaly I am tired of them,they have sent me 2 bills, but no gc,if they think I am paying them they are high,they will probably cash my check and say they lost it or something.I think the better busineess burea would be interested in this place.Something similiar happened to me with sprint,I tried to do a cell phone acct with them the same day I canceled because of no range in my area, I sent back the phone and got confromation that they recieved it and all, and after 6 months I am still getting a bill from them for 126.oo I ahve called several times and wrote to them and they say they are going to fix it and they don't. I think I am done trying to get deals of phones and such,just doesn't work out for me.

Question One of the lucky ones...

Well, I was lucky enough to finally get the GC... and it worked great... When you call MCI, make sure the swith is not marked "Pending"... this means that the 3rd party verifier did not complete their part... the GC will NOT be mailed until the status goes from Pending to Complete. Now I am ready to switch to another LD carrier... Anyone know of a good deal out there from AT&T or Sprint or whomever??? I don't make many calls so up front cash or GC's would be great...

I'm also in the same boat. I switched right after Thanksgiving and have called at least 4 times. Still, no GC. I was just thinking about it today and will give them a call tonight. I have documented everything and everyone I've spoken to, but it probably won't do any good. I'm so over MCI and will switch ASAP. I've never had so many problems with one company.

Well, I just spoke with another MCI person and she told me that I was credited $150 of free long distance on the 20th. She put me on hold and came back and said that since it had already gone thru, they couldn't do anything about it. I'm SOL, but she said look at it this way, "you'll get long distance for a long time" For me to use this much long distance, it will take a couple of years. I'm so p****** off!
Any suggestion?????????Anyone have an address I can send a nasty letter too??? Like I said before, I now have 6 names of operators and dates, so maybe I can make a case. The operator said that maybe they were having trouble getting gc from Amazon!!! How do you have problems getting gc's????

Amazon GC

I signed upwith MCI Yesterday, called 1-800-355-9566 today to confirm with rep that business account was created, called 1-700-555-4141 today and confirmed that number was switched, that was fast. What else can I do to see that GC is not stalled or put on hold. This is basically christmas for me, and I will be dissappointed if it falls through. All suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

I think if they told you that you would receive the gift certificate, then you will. I received mine about 7 days after I signed up.

Here's a bonus - they told me on the phone that they would waive the $4.95 monthly fee if my long distance was over $25. Well, I got my bill today, and my long distance was only $3 and something, and they still waived the fee!!

I have two lines, I switched both (yes, I got two certificates), and on the second line, which I use only for my internet (meaning NO long distance calls), they waived the fee for that line, too!

In the same boat huh? I signed up back on November 16 and still have not gotten my cert. I was first told it would come in my welcome kit. It did not. I called their CSR and they said it would come directly from Amazon. I wrote to Amazon and their CSR said she looked into it and they come right from MCI. I called twice since then. Both times I was told that it was en route. The last time I called was a week ago.

Ok so how to we band together on this one? Let's keep this post happening with our updates. As long as you all are with me - I'm willing to help us all get compensated. Whatever it takes. I am sure none of us need the $$ - it's just a principal here at this point.


Please file a complaint yourself. I'd at least like to make them pay $150 financially by deterring others.

OK gotta go - I told wife I was wrapping presents.. =)

I won't want to threaten anyone's intelligence here, but you need to look very carefully at your welcome packet when you receive it, for your amazon $150 certificate. It isn't what you would normally think a certificate looks like. My sister-in-law called me, frantic that her certificate wasn't in her packet, and I told her what it looked like and after quite some time, she did find it! Be sure and check out everything very well!
