| Kudos and Thanks to ReaderWare! What an awesome company.
They make a book, cd, DVD, and movie cataloguing software that you can use to automatically keep track of your collection, you can type in or scan in the ISBN codes and it does an online search and creates a file for you, I love books and read incessantly, so about a year and a half ago, Andy had bought me their software to use and keep track of my collection.
I have about 1500 books, or more, and was ending up with dupes sometimes, because I forgot what I already had. What the software does is searches various stores online with the ISBN codes, then lists the author, value, publisher, publishing date, and other info, with a pic of the cover if available, so you can save the info and keep track of what you have, makes it much easier.
But when we lost our old computer, I wasn't able to recover anything, including my purchasing code to unlock it. I sent them an email yesterday to ask if there was anything they could do, as I didn't want to have to spend another $40 on it. I was so suprised, even though I didn't remember anything about my order, other than the name and address on the order, they responded in minutes, they resent my original registration email with the code to my current email addy.
That is awesome, and very, very fast customer service. So thanks Readerware, when we want to catalogue our other collections in the future, you have guaranteed yourself repeat customers.
And for anyone who has a large collection of movies, books, or cds that you want to keep track of, I highly recommend their products. Just do a search for Readerware and you will find the site ASAP, they are very popular.
Even if you don't have a bar code scanner, you can still use them, by just typing in the ISBN codes, or you can browse online, like at Barnes&Noble or Amazon and find the information and then import it to create a file.
They even have a feature that lets you set it up like a lending library, so if someone borrows a movie, book, or cd, you can keep track of when they borrowed it, how long they have had it, and make sure you get it back. |
