Bath and Body Works Online

Ay ya yi the trouble I had with Bath and Body Works!

I placed my order on June 19th w/ standard ground shipping. Since it was during the annual sale, their site said that shipping may take longer. I could understand this. I tracked my order and it was delivered to me June 29th, which was fine, except, it wasn't my order! So I called and complained. The person I spoke with told me that my package was probably still on the way (which made no sense b/c online package told me mine was delivered.) They emailed a shipping return label (free to me thank goodness). And asked if I could take it to 'the store'. I assumed she meant the post office, which is great since its close here. But she meant a UPS store, and being a non driver, that meant bumming a ride.

Anyway, I was also told not to call again if my package didn't come until July 7th. So of course, it didn't come and I called on July 7th. I was told my package would be sent out right away and arrive on monday the 10th. Well it arrived on the 12th, not too too bad.

Then the last battle. When I complained about not getting my package, they had to cancel the first order and place a new order. Since I had paid w/ a credit card and a gift card, apparently this was too hard. The credit card refund came with in a few days. However, today I had to call about the gift card. One day shy of my original order, and I still have to call!

To top everything off, the only reason I put the order online was I was told that the sale on what I was purchasing was only online, so imagine my suprise when I found out it was in stores, and I could have avoided the hassle and excessive shipping fees. I REALLY hope my gift card gets credited or I don't know what I'll do!

Drive them crazy until they credit it back to like they are supposed to, telling them that you are talking about it on boards like this will also help, as they know we all ready posts like yours, and if they don't straighten it our properly, they will lose quite a few customers!

Bath & Body Works on-line definitely has come kinks to work out of their system. I placed an order, it came damaged due to very poor packaging. I called, they sent me a second one, also damaged due to poor packaging. The third one was also damaged, but I didn't bother to call back. Then I had to call several times because the credits that were promised for items damaged that were out of stock, never materialized. Eventually they all showed up, but it took several more phone calls. I, for one, will only be buying in regular stores in the future.

Geez! That is insane! I noticed the package was horrible when I got the first package. I feel bad for the other woman if she ever gets her stuff, things were all knocked over and the packing material was not enough for the amount in there. I was extremely lucky mine was all taped up and nothing was broken or spilled. I'm sticking to the physical store myself!

Oh I'll definately keep the pressure on. No one cheats me out of money and gets away with it lol.

Hi Dawn,

Keep complaining! That's what will eventually get you somewhere, and if that doesn't work, print out your original order and return what you "did" get to the store! (it's called passing the buck!)

Good luck,
Kat

Re: Bath and Body Works Online

Well after a month and 2 days, everything is FINALLY settled. Only took ya know 32 or something days!

I nearly had a heart attack when I called the giftcard number, which I have been calling since oringally canceling my order, and heard that my giftcard balance was $10 instead of hearing $0 and hanging up in frustration. It sure took long enough, and really, there should have been no reason for me to call about the giftcard, it should have just been taken care of but, alas.

When I placed the order, they gave me the option of filling out a survey. The reward for this was $5 off a $25 purchase, which can only be used in stores, and thats the only place I'll use it! When they heard about what happened, they offered me free standard shipping on my next order. If some sale is really only online, maybe I'll go with it. I did realize, that when I complained, my order was about $10 cheaper, because they paid for shipping, and I guess tax. So I did end up spending less, altho getting my refunds and order was such a pain!

Hi Dawn,

Glad you got your gift card and all is settled. Sure wish it had taken less time though. I had a similar experience with Swiss Colony last year, but they issued a credit right away. And since I've ordered from them for years with not a problem, I was really surprised. I will still continue to order from them though--great Christmas gifts!

We do, we do!! Pretty much all our major malls have them - Enfield, Buckland, Westfarms, Danbury Fair, Holyoke Mall.

They just had a HUGE sale last month that lasted pretty much all month. They have another one a few days after Christmas also which is a great time to stock up for birthdays, teachers gifts and future holidays (candles and things like that last for quite awhile).

Their Wallflowers are nice and make great gifts, especially when you can pick them up for $5. They are rather strongly-scented and work best in larger rooms... or, you can plug and unplug them as necessary which is what we do. Just make sure you store them upright!

I love Cotton Blossom & Moonlit Path... very nice fragrances, feminine without being too flowery or strong...
