Same here. I've been a Mypoints member since 1998. Ten f'n years. Yesterday I had 10,000 points. Today? Frozen, no explanation. To make matters worse, I had redeemed 7500 points last month for a $50 gift card which never arrived. So I've been screwed out of almost $150.

I still have no idea what's going through their diseased minds. Yes, I once had another account but that was in 2002, and I haven't touched that account since.

All I can say is that they didn't want to fork over my $150 in goodies, so they froze me instead. Well, they picked the wrong person to screw this time. I've written letters to every merchant with whom I've shopped via mypoints. In the letters I state that their (merchants') advertised promotions are not being followed through.

Next I've filed complaints with the BBB (I strongly encourage you all to do the same!!) Mypoints' BBB rating is already "UNSATISFACTORY", but that shouldn't stop us from further pounding them into the muck they deserve. Here's a link:

But I really think the best thing is to contact the merchants who advertise through Mypoints. Especially if you have a good standing account with these merchants, they'll listen and chances are they'll consider pulling out of Mypoints altogether (Amazon.com recently pulled out).

Bottom line: don't take this lying down, folks. If you've been cheated, BITE BACK.

Re: Mypoints froze me?

Nothing ever got resolved with MyPoints. They totally shafted myself and three other members of my family who had accounts. Over 100,000 points in total. All because we use the same home address. They never delivered any of the gift certificates we ordered prior to the account being frozen.

They were very very rude, agressive and unhelpful in trying to get it resolved. Called the BBB and was told there wasn't anything they could do, just write a letter to them and they'd put it on record if someone else called before making a purchase - like who does that. Sending letters to the companies that they represent yeilded no results either. "to bad so sad, it's really not our concern" responses.

They are a scam. MyPoints is scam artists who spam you under the quise of redeeming points.

My advise. Try cash out your points and see what you get, then never use them again.

Re: Mypoints froze me?

I have had some accounts frozen. All of my family members use the same account, but are all 'real' and they all have their own email address, although the mailing address is the same. Does anyone know how mypoints detects accounts that they decide to 'freeze' (close)? Can they detect the ISP address of a computer, or should the address listed on registration be different. When one redeems mypoints, one can always 'change' the mailing address back to the real one for the giftcard to be sent to, but then maybe they look at duplicate mailing addresses in addition (or instead of) duplicate registration addresses. I had a dozen account (my children and siblings all have - or had - mypoints account frozen this week. Any ideas on how to prevent this from happening in the future?

Re: Mypoints froze me?

In the past, MyPoints' terms of service clearly stated that you could only have one account per mailing address, which would explain why so many people are getting their accounts frozen. I have checked and noticed that it no longer contains a stipulation about that, but I am willing to venture a guess and say that is definitely why so many of the aforementioned accounts have been closed out & frozen. It's a shame it has to be that way, but honestly, it would almost seem like cheating the system if you had that many people registered at one address - wouldn't it make more sense just to consolidate into one account and pool all of your resources for one big reward? I know that doesn't help if you each want to earn something different, but I can almost say with certainty that this is why your accounts have been frozen. Sorry I have been a member for years and have earned quite a few points and haven't had an issue *knock on wood*
