| Re: Mypoints froze me? Now, as to the regular or internet division of the BBB, don't expect them to do anything to help you, either. The BBB is not really a consumer protection program at all. The only thing a company has to do to be listed with them, and be able to display their little logo is pay a membership fee. There are no business ethics or morality requirements. Since these businesses pay a fee to be listed and you don't, whose side do you think they are going to be on? All the company in question has to do is say we suspended or froze their account for violation of our TOS and the matter is settled according to the BBB. The company can even lie, I have had it happen to my husband and I personally, but since they are the ones paying the membership fee, and you aren't, they will take the businesses word for it, and you are out in the cold. I have even had a complaint that I refused to sign as settled, but if you look at the company on their site, you will see them listed with 1 complaint, filed from my husband and I, and the BBB said it was unfounded and lists the matter as settled to the advantage of all parties! |

| Re: Mypoints froze me? Here's my status. Yesterday I got an email from BBB saying that a copy of my claim has been sent to InboxDollars. Today my account was active again. I'm not exactly sure why it was reinstated. Maybe when they received the email they'd rather do that then go along with the claim, or they saw there was no reason to terminate my account. All I know is I cashed my money out quick before they did it again. |

| Re: Mypoints froze me? They have never froze me, but it was my understanding that they had "changed hands" a bunch of times. They used to be so good years ago, but, who would have thought they would go down the memolink road? Makes me mad too, hope you get your points back, redeem them quick I sure am going to. |

| Hi My mypoints acct. was also frozen without any reason. I emailed them & they haven't replied yet. I accumulated over 5000pts with them! Some of my friends also got the same treatment...one of them already complained to BBB. Maybe MyPts is conducting a wholesale purge of customers they don't want. Is anyone else out there experiencing the same problem with this company? Iphighenia |

| Re: Mypoints froze me? Sounds to me that they are freezing the ones with alot of points to redeem I have asked several people I know who only have like less than 1000 points and are not having any problems with my points. They probably don't want to redeem to people that have enough points to actually get something worth saving them for! |

My husband and I have had our own separate accounts for ages. I remember before their website change, it used to say how many accounts per household were allowed. All I can find now is this: We allow only one membership per person, and only one account per email address. I've read on other boards of accounts being frozen, but that's been mostly when two or more people at the same mailing address cashed out for rewards around the same time. The only other problems I've heard of is when one person in a household buys something through their own account, yet ends up using the email address of another person in the household who has an account. Makes it look like something is fishy, but I think even then situations got straightened out. Jaycee |

| Re: Mypoints froze me? Also, I found out that if any of the offers that are emailed to you from their affiliates are marked as spam, they will terminate an account. I try to keep as much mail out of the spam folder as possible. |

| Re: Mypoints froze me? I spoke to someone in Membercare from MyPoints on the phone today. I believe her name was Kate? I told her I read something on a bulletin board about a MyPoints member being told only one account per household was allowed now and I was concerned because both my husband and I are members. She said that it is absolutely NOT true and that I have nothing to worry about. She knows the website used to say 4, but they don't have a definate ruling on a set number as of right now. She said if there were more people in my house that wanted to join, that would be fine. It's when there is a problem by account holders proving to MyPoints there are 2 (or more) separate people. Since all you really need is separate email addresses, it's very easy for people to lie. Jaycee |

| Re: Mypoints froze me? Hello, I too have experienced a problem with mypoints.com. On July 17, 2006, I went to check my bonus emails and found out my account was frozen. I contacted them and all I got was a response stating "we are investigating the problem and will get back with you as soon as the problem has been resolved." I waited and waited and finally emailed them again and they told me to "wait 5-10 more days since they are still investigating". I waited and did not hear from them so I sent a nasty email to them and yesterday (7-31) I received an email from them stating I was in violation of their TOS and basically says I have been banned from mypoints.com and if I sign up again they will take legal action."... Surpise to me since I have been a member since 1999, and have cashed in alot of points without having any problems. Now of all sudden I violate their TOS?! Several of my friends and family have encourted the exact same problem and have gotten the same responses from them. We are furious they have done this to all of us. I have filed a complaint with them and still they have not responded. I am thankful that I cashed in the 7000 points the month month before and only lost 2000 points. Which still ticks me off. I will keep you posted as to what they tell me. Tammy |

| Re: Mypoints froze me? Hi, all. I just joined this forum after doing a web search for MyPoints phone number. I just found their phone number on this forum, called and got voicemail instead of a real person. I left a message to call me. We'll see if they do or not. I am currently in a situation with them, emailing them back and forth for almost two months now, over crediting almost 20,000 points that I earned over five invoices in the two months prior to my first e-mail (four months ago!). In the past, there has consistently been a problem with getting the points I earn at Office Depot credited automatically but up to now they have always been good about crediting them manually as long as I send them a copy of the invoices. Their site is now showing my click-thru (it didn't use to) but still doesn't show the points pending. I think that MyPoints has recently done an upgrade to their system and perhaps their management as well. This last time, though, they have been giving me a no end of problems about it and I need to talk to someone higher up in their customer service or upper management about the issue. Thanks for posting the address, SilentJJ. I had been looking everywhere for that and hadn't found it. If anyone is interested, their phone numbers are: Voice: 888-262-4528; fax: 888-333-6260. I have read and examined their ToU's carefully and I know that I am not in violation of them. I've even quoted their own ToU back at them and explained in detail how I am not violating them. Still, I'm scared that they may freeze my account also when I have been saving my points up for the larger rewards. I haven't really noted dates when other people started having problems with them but it seems that their bad customer service is a very recent thing, only a couple of months ago for me. Before that they were great about everything. I let you know how this fiasco works out if anyone would be interested. Have a great day, everyone! ~A 0 ![]() |

| Re: Mypoints froze me? By the by, has anyone ever received an e-mail from any other e-mail address than [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or
Register Now] or the other member services address? I'm looking to find out how their corporate e-mail addresses are structured. You know, are they first initial last [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or
Register Now], first name last name@, firstname.lastname@. I can't find the info anywhere and I want to cc the co-presidents of the company on my next mail. I finally found the page on their website with their names and I think they should know about this. If I were president of a company, I would want to know what's going on in my customer services department. Thanks again, ~A 0 ![]() |

Do you have several family members in the same house using MyPoints? This isn't some little company out in the middle of nowhere. Unless something has changed, they're backed by United Airlines (I think that's the right one?) To threaten legal action they would see something on your accounts and since you said you have had several family members experience the same problem, it sounds like something got mixed up there. I never have Phoenix. Just the "memberservices@mypoints.com". I admit I've only emailed them maybe 3 times in the 5 years I've been a member. When I needed something or wanted to find out something I read on a message board, I usually just called. ![]() Jaycee |

| Re: Mypoints froze me? I have had problems with MyPoints over the years, and here's my latest story..... To those using MyPoints. BEWARE!!!! I had used MyPoints for several years and had read their emails and purchased products from their businesses to accumulate more points. I had started to accumulate a decent number of points, as I was working towards one of the bigger rewards. (15,000+) Well, that is when I started having trouble with their service. First, the emails that came to me started containing invalid links, so I couldn’t earn points. When I tried to send notes to their Customer service about this, they told me it was a problem with my “internet explorer”, cookies, and numerous other things, even though I had not made any changes to my IE or my environment. (Plus, I had told them if I changed the link the email had, I could actually get the points.) Then shortly after I told them I had tried everything they said, and how I could get points after all, if I changed the link they emailed, (adding www to the front of the link) I stopped getting any emails from them at all. After the frustration I had trying to tell them about the email problem before, and going back and forth, I just let it drop for a while. So after a while, I just forgot about them, since I had not received any emails from them to get more points. Well, after a few months went by, I remembered I needed to check back to see what my points were, and at least use them. Well, little did I know, they had inactivated and removed my account!!! So when I tried to get my points back, they would not give them to me. They did not try to make any effort to contact me before they removed my account and points. I believe this to be a standard practice. You will start accumulating points, but if you get too many, they will stop sending you emails. They are hoping you will forget all about them and therefore Let your account go inactive so they can remove your account and any points associated with it. And if you try to get them back, they will tell you that it was in their “terms of service”, so you should have known about it. (Yes, we all read and remember every word of every term of service we get! RIGHT!) So BEWARE! If you stop getting Mypoints Emails, get on and immediately redeem your points! They will not let you get your points back if you go inactive, which is exactly what they want you to do, so they don’t have to pay out anything with you trying to redeem points! So if you have MyPoints, cash in your points immediately, and get whatever you can. I believe if you accumulate too many points, they will start the practice of not sending you emails, hoping you will forget about them, so they won’t have to pay out on the huge point redemptions. My advice, get out of Mypoints while you can, and take out what you can. They are in the practice of deceiving, and you shouldn’t take any part of it. |
