DO NOT BUY FROM CHEAPER THAN DIRT!!!!!!

My husband ordered $88.90 worth of stuff from Cheaper Than Dirt. The box should have weighed 24.7 lbs. However when we got it , it weighed 15.8 lbs and was missing two items. I called them on Friday and the girl said another box was coming saturday and if I didn't get it to call Monday. So I call today and they tell me no that was the only box. Then I tell them that we only got one item and told them what was missing. Now get this...they wont do anything about it because I threw the box away. They said they need the box to get mailed back to inspect it for damage! Can you imagine sending an empty box to someone! Fedex delivered it and when I told them the story they pretty much told me too bad.....We were good customers but I told them DO NOT SEND ME ANY MORE CATALOGS!!!!!!!!! I am through with them for good.

That's too bad. I order tons of stuff from them and have never been cheated. Of course, if they mess up an order I can drive 100 miles to their retail store and get it fixed. Of course with the price of gas, that might not be a reasonable solution. Sorry about you troubles.

I understand your frustration. The reason they wanted the empty box back was that they have to inspect it in order to make a claim that the package was damaged to get their money back from Fed-ex.
That was a normal procedure from where I used to work. However, to me they could have taken the loss on this in order to keep a good customer.
Perhaps the person you talked to could have checked with somebody higher up to find out what to do but didn't? Is there someone else (in a higher postion) that you can talk to or email? If I ran this company I would not want to lose your business and would ship out the missing items. I would try contacting the company again. I believe the person you spoke to should have compensated you in some way.

That really sucks that you were screwed by Cheaper Than Dirt! I order stuff from them all the & haven't had any problems with them & I'm really sorry this happened to you. But this was your first problem with them & you use to like buying from them, so I thik maybe you might wanna give them another chance cuz everybody screws up at some point & by never ordering from them again is only hurting you & not them. Unfortunately with big buisiness today, the costumer doesn't mean much to them like we did in the old days. Personally I think you should give them another chance & if they screw you again, then you can stop buying from them. Its just a thought & I would give them one more chance, but thats me
