Don`t shop at HOME DEPOT !

I have found out the hard way about the Home Depot's customer service. I have purchased, paint, lumber, decks, sprinkler systems, floors, doors and much more. So when it was time for a roof I went to the Home Depot and what a big mistake that was. The roof was $7,465.00 and that was the highest quote of four. But if you have the Home Depot come to your house and give you a quote you will hear all of the promises they make to your face and you can read on the HD web site. Then when the problems start you will find out the truth. The Home Depot has now installed three roofs on my house and did over $1,000.00 in damages. My ceiling was cracked on 3-29-06 and still has not been repaired. I have filed complaints with the BBB, HD's customer care, store managers, branch managers, installation managers and project managers and they just don't seem to care. Hi Don,

Thanks for reposting. Always read everything you sign before you sign a contract - if something strikes you wrong, ask the person telling you to sign it, to change a phrase and initial it, or cross it out and always initial it. I'm wondering what exactly you signed when you contracted Home Depot to do your roof? It doesn't matter what they tell you - it's what is in writing that does.
Have you called your local branch of Legal Aid for an opinion and maybe some advice yet? That would be my next step. And bring the contract if you do.

Well good news! BBB straightened out the mess. We got our $200.00 back from Home Depot and an apology from the manager. She called us, saying it was a new person, they were treating t as a non-reciept. YEAH!!!

Well good for you I've had excellent luck w/the one time I used them and I used the online BBB, for an online merchant and had my cc account credited and an apology within two days, plus 10% (which I did not ask for) for my trouble. So, that's always, of course after going through the store, my next step, though always go through the store first as many times it "is" the person you get, and they'll straighten it out right then and there.
I have a question for you, no two! lol, Did you ever find that recliner? And... what's a 5th wheel? (that's probably a dumb one, but I don't know!!!!)
