Hotmail Won't Work With DirecWay Anymore

I have used hotmail as my primary email account for years.

Wednesday morning I couldn't sign in. It kept saying "Page Cannot Be Displayed"

I tried several times throughout the day, changed my security settings, tried a different browser, and finally emailed them using my yahoo email address for them to contact me.

Then I went to the library and tried there. Guess what? I got in right away!

Hotmail did email me at yahoo, telling me that they were 'working on the problem'.

Thursday morning, when I still couldn't get in, I called DirecWay, my satellite ISP. The guy said they were getting lots of complaints from DirecWay customers. Hotmail must have IMPROVED their security so now we can't get in.

He had me 'ping' the hotmail address to show me that they weren't replying, then 'ping' yahoo and show me what the reply would look like.

I have changed my ebay and paypal accounts to my yahoo address, but have at least 2 amazon GCs supposed to be going to hotmail. BTW, if my hotmail acct gets 'full' it won't accept any more emails.

I'm angry with both Hotmail and DirecWay. I am paying more for my ISP than anyone I know. Can't THEY give me an email address that doesn't require Outlook Express?

Silly question, but why are you using Hotmail in the first place? Every ISP I've ever used has given me an email address associated with my account - some will give you more than one!

If you don't want to use Outlook, try downloading Eudora. I don't like Outlook at all either! Also, you might want to call your ISP to see if they have web based access for your email. My tiny ISP does, which has come in handy when we've been on the road & wanted to check our email.
