Warning about the Avlimil 'freebie'

Be careful of this - Avlimil
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]

I'm off to get my $65.50 that this 'free sample' cost me back by selling it on ebay. Avlimil claims it's just 4.50 for shipping and handling so I thought I would give it a shot and compare it, but you are automatically signing up for a subscription to get the supplements. This is the last time I listen to my husband! LOL

I wish I had looked a bit online before I ordered, now I'm in a big credit card billing hassle. I'll need to write a Certified letter to Avlimil to get them to stop billing me. Lots of time spent online and on the phone trying to straighten this out. Warner Labs (Avlimil) claims it's on their website that I will be billed for recurring charges, but I have looked and don't see it. Their phone message also says you can unsubscribe online at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] but I don't see any way to unsubscribe from their program there. I'm not saying they're doing anything illegal, because I'm sure it's all legal, technically...but it's not very ethical. Now I'm SURE not to buy their product.

Sadder but wiser here!

Re: Warning about the Avlimil 'freebie'

I hate when you end up with these hassles when trying something free.

I did want to point out though that their website does talk about the automatic enrollment

"All free offers, as well as other clearly marked Managed Care Direct offers, include automatic enrollment in our Managed Care Direct Program and will receive a new 60-day Cycle of Avlimil approximately 5 days before their current cycle runs out. Customer's credit card will be billed the Managed Care price of only $70.00 on the day product is shipped, unless they cancel before the date of shipment."

Hope you get everything worked out!

(And too bad you're selling the product - was hoping you could tell me how it worked!!)

Re: Warning about the Avlimil 'freebie'

Please note that they do not even send you a quick and easy email to say hey we're sending it now...you don't even get a reminder. I have accidentally signed up for stuff like this before with Scholastic books for example, but they are VERY QUICK to cancel it and I don't have a problem with them or magazine subscriptions when this happens. Avlimil is a different story. I just think when you are selling someone something, you don't need to entrap them.

The stress of trying to get this thing cancelled is going to ruin any romantic tendencies I might have had, let me tell you. LOL
It is very aggravating!!! The pills sort of have a weed type aftertaste, because it's botanical/herbal stuff.

I looked at this, too, awhile back, but when I saw the recurring shipment thing, I decided not to do it.

Re: Warning about the Avlimil 'freebie'

I got sucked into this last year. There was nothing on the site about recurring shipments, and no easy way to call them. I ended up getting a refund for one month.

Re: Warning about the Avlimil 'freebie'

What a huge ripoff- this is not mentioned in the TV ad AT ALL. If it's not illegal, it ought to be.

Is there any type of government group one can contact about this to complain?

Re: Warning about the Avlimil 'freebie'

My husband wanted me to sign up too, but luckily I convinced him to research it more and we discovered lots of complaints. A natural ingredient in Avlimil and other similar supplements is called Damiana extract and it works pretty well you put 1-2 drops under your tongue 30-60 minutes before love making. I learned about this in my herbal remedies book, and have tried it myself. It costs like $12 a bottle at most health foods stores.

Re: Warning about the Avlimil 'freebie'

I was going to come post about this a few days ago but forgot, it was on our news "IN YOUR CORNER" segment. It's where this guy goes and helps people when they get ripped off.

Apparently he had several people calling about this and there was nothing that even he could be done for him (usually they do because the media seems to scare companies) they said because they state on their site and over the phone that you will be enrolled in auto payments that you agree to their terms when signing up.

I make sure and read the fine print really well now days.

Re: Warning about the Avlimil 'freebie'

Even though it states that you are automatically enrolling in something, they should just as clearly state how to cancel out of it or how to contact them easier than they do.

Thumbs down Re: Warning about the Avlimil 'freebie'

[color=Blue] I also got ripped off by this company. Their website is [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]. You can't ask anything on this site, because there is no where to go. I called customer service and they are so rude that it's unbeleivable. I reported this company to the BBB in Ohio and also to the FDA. I am posting complaints at every website or forum I can find. I am $70.00 poorer, but learned a much more expensive lesson. There are complaints about them all over the Internet! Yet, as far as I know, nothing has been done. As for Avlimil working, don't bother. I took it for a month, and I think it made my libido lower than it was!

LOL, reader11, now when I see the word Avlimil I get so pissed off that I don't even HAVE a libido! Such a shame that companies like this can get away with it for so long.

Re: Warning about the Avlimil 'freebie'

I contacted my bank, Bank of America, and their fraud dept took the charges off right away and told me they get tons of complaints about this company and that they never argue with the banks about refunding the money. They lady came out and told me it was a fraudulant company
