| i recently bought 2 watches from overstock.com watch #1 was advertised as a kinetic movement chronograph at an unbelievably low price...doubting the ad, i wrote them an email to question the veracity of their statements...they responded by restating their boast about the particulars of the watch and how great a retailer they were to be able to offer such deals... when i received the watch, i discovered that both their ad and email to me were wrong...it was nothing more than a quartz battery watch...also, the watch came in some kind of generic box and without any paperwork or company issued wrapping..it looked to me as if it had been used.... watch #2, which was included with the same shipment, did not have the warranty/instruction booklet (which, when buying a watch, is essential to verify it's authenticity)....it, too, was in a different box but this time the box was from a different watchmaker! i wrote 5 emails regarding these problems..their responses were just a mass of incompetance...i also called twice and was placed on hold each time until i was disconnected.... the only way i was able to resolve this was to call my credit card company and have the charge removed...the representative warned me off of overstock.com. telling me that 'i wasn't the first to complain'.. my experience.... 1) overstock.com misrepresents their products 2) overstock.com sells products that very well may not be authentic 3) overstock.com has no effective way to deal with customer dissatisfaction 4) overstock.com has the very bottom of the barrel working for them in their customer service department and as a side note, in doing some further checking, it appears that overstock.com is heavily shorted in the stock market, which is an indication of a low confidence in it's ability to stay afloat...

| Re: overstock.com - suspicious product/poor service yeah, I've got to go with the OP on this one - I bought stuff from them back in August of 2003 and the rebate for it still hasn't come through. The fulfillment company they chose couldn't handle the submissions and they apparently do not have the "push" to make the company issue me my check, 25 weeks later. Don't bother doing business with them. |

| Re: overstock.com - suspicious product/poor service Had ordered (2) film ribbons for fax machine & they only sent (1). The price was fantastic! Got (2) for less then what (1) would cost. Ok...getting back to them only sending (1). I called customer service, and they apologized..checked order number-verified that they only sent (1) package, and said that another would arrive in a couple days. Couple Days later package arrived No problems with billing
