Target Photo Shop

Has anyone else had a problem getting digital photos printed at Target using a memory stick? I had dropped a brand new one off at my local Target to get images from a vacation printed, but when I went to pick them up--no photos! Clerk said I'd done something to the memory stick. When I got home, even my camera couldn't read it. Don't know what Target had done (they are saying they didn't do anything), but all the pictures were wipped out and the memory stick itself was unformatted. Nothing wrong with the second memory stick which I'd taken to Ritz cameras, so I know it's not me. Spouse, who is a computer whiz got the stick reformated so saved the sixty dollar memory stick from the garbage. Anyhow, lesson learned--steer clear of Targets photo shop with you memory sticks.

Yikes, that's terrible! I usually just upload mine to the internet to print and keep them on my hard drive just in case. I haven't had any problems with Wal-Mart and Sam's Club in those cases. So sorry about your pictures.

I work at a Target photo lab. Did you know that you can corrupt the files on any digital camera card by removing the card while the camera is still on? I have seen situations like yours; and this is the most likely cause. This is something that had to be discovered by us through trial and error - since the manufacturers of the cameras and media cards do not supply helpful tidbits like this one.
