Re: Circuit City..... Dear frustrated BBQ'er I am sorry that particular store employees gave you a hard time, I am a regular customer at Circuit Cuty becaus eof there quick service, and excellent product selection. I give credit were credit is due, they replaced a bad printer for me after the warranty had expired and gave me a price match on the new one from the newspaper advertised competition. Only once I had to wait 15 minutes for a pick up order from the express service, but the otehr times just walk in and walk out excellent for time of service. My grain of sand.

Re: Circuit City..... LOL...I didn't think I came off as a BBQ'er ... but perhaps ![]() I guess customer service does vary...and it's great that you've had positive experiences with them. I have noticed that in alot of the posts here...some folks have had great experiences with certain retailers, while others have not...like with overstocks.com --some got burned, others had terrific transactions. Luck of the draw I think.

Re: Circuit City..... Well they treat women and other minorities horribly. A salesman kept asking me if my husband would let me buy that stereo. It took me forever to get him to come answer my questions--he kept walking up to couples who came into the store after me. I asked for his manager and told her I was not married, made my own decisions, had a ready credit card with a high charge limit and was going somewhere they treat people equally. And even though I'm married now I sure don't have to ask for my husband's permission!! ha ha ha ha ha! What century did that salesman crawl out of? That is just one story. My brother-in-law and my mother have both had very rude treatment (or been lied to). They encourage a culture of racism and sexism. They've been charged with racism hiring practices a few times; paid the fines, done it again. I don't need to do business with people like that, no thanks.

I recently bought a digital camera from Circuit City store. When I tried to return the product within 14 days of purchase, I was being subject to a restocking fee of 15% ($60). I explained to the store representative that I was returning it in the same state I bought from the store. The store representative asked me if the box was opened and I said it was opened by their representative before I made the purchase. I asked the store representative if it was not a display item and he opened it to make sure that I was convinced it was not. The store manager is now saying to me that it was opened on my request and that I am being subject to a restocking fee. I was not told by the representative that since he had opened it, it would be considered an opened item and that I would be subject to a restocking fee. They are stating that it was opened on my request and are not listening to me. I was trying to return the product as it was when I purchased it from the store. Their assistant store director and their cool line are not hearing my case properly. They were trying to put words in my mouth that I had opened it. I feel I have been cheated and hope I was informed prior to making the purchase. I will never do business with them.
