officemax rebates stink!

Ok - I can understand the need to process the thing...and the time necessary to print out a check. But really, come on...

When I pull up info on my rebate, it says it was rec'd on August 29th, and the check will be mailed out "per the terms of the agreement." Well heck - unless I can't count, that's, uh, 20 weeks ago...and our "terms" were that it would be here in 8 to 12...so by my count they are 8 weeks late - TWO MONTHS!

And when I email them, what do they say?
"please be patient while we research this" - what do you need to research? My stuff was correct, according to YOUR website...
Okay, some research...what will that take, like a day or so? Okay, two days, then four - now a week and almost a half has gone by and they no longer answer my emails.

I'm starting to think I'm screwed...let me tell you this - YOU'RE ON MY HIT LIST, OFFICEMAX REBATES! Anyone I can, I'll badmouth you to - and I've already filed a fraud report with the government...maybe you can "research" up a lie to give to them, too!

If you dare to put in a rebate through them (parago.com) make SURE that when the date of your check arrival comes with no check, email them immediately...and every day after that!

I hear ya, Tschmitt! ComputerSurplusOutlet.com is doing almost the same thing to me. I returned an item in October for credit so I can reorder another part. They said it takes 7-10 days for it to be credited. And here it's January and still no credit to my account. I don't know where to go from here. I've emailed them several times until I'm at the point they don't answer back. I hate when companies do this kinda stuff. It's not like they are going to be out the money, I still need to reorder something else. But I'm not going to do that until they credit me for what I already returned. At this point, they are keeping my money and I am left with nothing.

office max rebates in my experience and what i've heard...STINK! they are SLOW and dont credit often times...

Call your credit card company and let them know.
You should get some satisfaction from them.

I really hate the OfficeMax rebate game. I have had rebates denied, and when I complain I get the rebate. I think they do that just to throw people off. Same with Fry's. I'm still waiting for CompUSA rebates from early January.

OfficeMax is also usually our of the specials I want on Monday, and the ad comes out Sunday!

I sent for an officemax rebate on 2/12/06.....when I called them they said I didn't attach the UPC bar code......which is bull****....I never forget this......they are crooks

I know exactly how you feel. I purchased a computer from them in february and I mailed my rebate from right away. To this date they still claim they never received that paper even after I faxed the paper two times after mailing it. They claim it all my fault.

To all of you who are having problems with this type of thing, if it's a return and you charged it, contact your credit card company ASAP.
If it's a rebate, contact the BBB online, and file a complaint.
