Has anyone here used Priceline to book a hotel room? Had problems with your credit card billing?
I used Priceline and booked a hotel at a great price -- turned out to be a Sheraton. Used the same CC to guarantee incidental charges when I checked into the hotel (didn't incur any). When my bill came in, I was charged twice (both by PL and by Sheraton).
I was unsure who to go to, to deal with this. On its face it seemed like a Sheraton problem but maybe it was communication between PL and the hotel. I called PL and their customer svc person said to expect 3 to 4 weeks for them to investigate and call me back (by which time my bill would be past due). I figured the hotel must be pretty clueless, so I contacted my CC company and said I wanted to dispute the bill. They put a hold on the charge and said they'd investigate and get back with me in 2-3 weeks.
This was my first PL experience and though I was really pleased with the price and the hotel I ended up with, this billing problem has left a sour taste in my mouth. I'm wondering if this was a random experience, if it was something I did wrong, or if anyone else had had similar problems. |
