Has anyone here used Priceline to book a hotel room? Had problems with your credit card billing?

I used Priceline and booked a hotel at a great price -- turned out to be a Sheraton. Used the same CC to guarantee incidental charges when I checked into the hotel (didn't incur any). When my bill came in, I was charged twice (both by PL and by Sheraton).

I was unsure who to go to, to deal with this. On its face it seemed like a Sheraton problem but maybe it was communication between PL and the hotel. I called PL and their customer svc person said to expect 3 to 4 weeks for them to investigate and call me back (by which time my bill would be past due). I figured the hotel must be pretty clueless, so I contacted my CC company and said I wanted to dispute the bill. They put a hold on the charge and said they'd investigate and get back with me in 2-3 weeks.

This was my first PL experience and though I was really pleased with the price and the hotel I ended up with, this billing problem has left a sour taste in my mouth. I'm wondering if this was a random experience, if it was something I did wrong, or if anyone else had had similar problems.

I also booked with Sheraton via Priceline and had no problems. It worked great.

I used Priceline..I was ALMOST charged twice..When I checked out he asked if I wanted the charges on the credit card..And I almost forgot about it,till he asked me to wait a minute..Then he messed with his
computer and said "oh.it has been paid for..priceline" so I am guessing it is an easy mistake to make..More thank likely you will go through the hotel to get your $ back..They are the ones that charged you when they should not have..

I havent used priceline for a hotel but I have for gasoline and long distance service. Am TOTALLY happy with them. Right now, the going price for 87 octane gas is over 1.50 here and Im locked in at 1.18. Have 5 cent long distance at any time of the day with no monthly charge. I cant wait til they start doing groceries here.
