I bought a new Hewlett Packard computer in January and two weeks ago it crashed. I called customer support and the told me to take it to a local company to have it serviced. I did that and a very long two weeks later, I got my computer back. I forgot to mention that I work at home and need my computer. Needless to say, I did not get paid for those two weeks. They replace two motherboards, memory, sensors, and processors. Hewlett Packard kept blaming the local company that I had taken my computer to for the delay. But that was not the case. After getting my computer back, it will now not boot for out of five times. I took my computer back and they called HP and they informed me that this is how all new HP computers would be!! We now have to ship my computer off for at least another two weeks!!! Would any of you "love with" this type of problem??? We are now fighting for a new system. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks |

Wow..sounds like a doozy. I have had a HP computer..and not had that kind of problem. Sounds like you are still under waranty and that the company itself is responsible for replacement. And I don't understand why you should have even had to take it in for repair. It should have been cut and dry. Whatever you do...you need to keep fighting. Talk to the supervisors or their supervisors. The squeaky wheel gets the grease...and these computers are too expensive to not have them working properly a few months down the road. Good Luck!!! And if the answers you get arent satifactory...dont settle for them. Keep going...

[QUOTE]i was just wondering if you ever got your computer mess straightened out? Sounds like you should talk to a lawywer who deals with small claim actions if you have not had any satisfaction by now. Don't give up - the answers they gave you is bs about that's how all the computers are now.

Yes, I finally got it straightened out. HP sent me a brand new computer, one that cost $1,000 more than the one that I had bought!!! After 35 days!! This may not sound like a lot but when you work at home (on the computer), five weeks without pay IS a lot!! I was treated very badly by HP but in the end, I was dealing with a very nice manager who helped me anyway that he could. I am very unhappy with the way that I was treated and the length it took to resolve this, but I got a much nicer computer in the end. Thanks for asking!!!
