Unhappy Grocery Coupons

Many of the chain grocery stores in my area have stopped allowing pre-printed internet coupons. They claim that there is an enormous amount of fraud involved there. It is really upsetting because I saved a bunch over the years with some of those downloaded coupons. If the major branches agree to participate and even advertise it on their own websites, I don't see how they can legally do that. Anyone else have this problem?

yep, my local store refuses all internet coupons. They've done this for about 6 months or so. It stinks, but since the store make the rules, my options are to either abide by them or shop elsewhere. Now, when I run across a "downloadable" coupon, I don't bother. I sometimes email the company (they usually have a link either on the web site or the coupon) and tell them that I cannot use internet coupons. MOST times I'll get some in the snail mail. Never hurts to ask.

Re: Grocery Coupons

I was just thinking about this last night. Just about every store I know of in the area has stopped taking them. I saw an add for those new Cascade gel packs on tv last night and the put up a link for a $1 off coupon and I just thought, why bother??? I guess it's up to us to start emailing these companies and letting them know that we can't use these coupons. Maybe the pressure that we create will force them and the grocery stores to come up with some sort of a solution to stop the fraud so that everyone can enjoy them again. I must say that some of the best deals I've gotten over the past few years have been from internet coupons. It's a shame that a few bad apples always have to spoil the bunch....
