Angry OVERSTOCK.COM IS BAD NEWS

My husband and I placed an order for two scooters on the 10th. When my husband checked our order today he found they had CANCELLED OUR ORDER without notifying us. They oversold. Though they have processed a refund they told us it will take 8 DAYS. WHAT DO I TELL MY KIDS THEY ARE GETTING FOR XMAS!!!!!!

I am sorry that happened to you.

I have had that happen several times. Any business that takes your money should at least have the decency to notify people when they are not going to fill their orders.

Oh I am so sorry! I am assuming you mean electric scooters. I checked out Amazon.com, but the shipping will kill ya. Do you have a Fred Meyers around? They go by Krogers in other parts of the country. They had them there. Your other option is to go ahead and order it and wrap a picture of them for under the tree. Trust me, they will still be excited. I can't believe Overstock did that!!! Thats terrible. Did you email them back? I would certainly ask for something to make up for the trouble of not alerting you that the bikes were unavailable.

Thank you for you suggestions. I appreciate your input. Unfortunetly we can't do any shopping until they refund our money. Since they started the process on the 17th and they informed me it takes up to eight days for the money to hit our bank, we will be doing quite a bit of damage control after the holidays with our girls. Luckily they are old enough to sort of understand and I had gotten excellent stocking stuffers at a Target sale this summer!

Doesn't this stuff just burn you up? I ordered about $100 worth of stuff from [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] on 12/4--LOTS OF TIME for shipping one would think. Yesterday, I received 3 items worth about $20 and they charged me $18.95 for shipping (the total shipping for the whole order only showed to be $11.95 on the conformation page). I know--call them--and I did, a long distance call (no 800 number), and was on hold at least 10 minutes before I got to talk to a real person who said they would fix the error in the shipping charge, but could not confirm whether or not I would receive any or all of the items I ordered before Christmas. She was rude, tried to blame the errors on me (what does she think she is dealing with a rookie shopper here?), and not very helpful at all.

I ended my conversation with her by telling her that I will be sure not to make this mistake again (ordering from them that is).

We bought a microwave from them last X'mas, Fed-Ex lost it on its way to us. Overstock did replace it, however, it broke in 3 months, not from overuse either. I e-mailed Overstock to tell them about the quality of this product and told them that maybe they should reconsider carrying that brand. They did not send any reply to me whatsoever. It's as if they didn't even care the product was faulty. I doubt I'll do business with them again.
