Deal Member - Post of Apology

Do you hate it when someone screws up and is afraid to apologize? I do.. Well, this is my opportunity to not let that happen.

A few days ago, during my lack of sleep, I replied to a post that a member had made about people bashing other boards. I completely agree with her thoughts on the matter.. there is absolutely no reason to bash other boards or other members. When I typed my reply, my thoughts weren't very clear and what I typed was not quite what I had meant.

I had mentioned that there were duplicate posts with her opinions about there being no need to bash. I was agreeing and what I typed basically said that everyone would have seen the dupe posts and understand and to move on. As I said, my thoughts were not complete.. neither was my typing. What I actually meant was that the post was made in various forums where they were certain to be viewed by others (quite a few) and they should understand what is meant and that there is no need to bash and that they should then move on from doing just that.

However, my post singled out a particular member, who I hate to mention here because she was upset, and rightfully so, because she had been singled out in her original post that I mention parts of above. I truly meant to compliment and promote what she was saying. However, I had very little sleep and was rushing to reply with what I was typing before I had to leave for work.

This member (and I hope you see this) said that she would leave DOD because of this. Hopefully, one of you other members who know what I am speaking of and are friends with her, will explain what I am typing here in the hopes that she will come back and visit DOD. She was a terrific member who made many, many excellent posts.. and I believe that I had complimented her in the past for just that. I truly apologize for the misunderstanding and I did send her an e-mail but never heard anything back.

So.. to you "B", I apologize and hope you will accept my apology and my explanation. Take care.

Edited to add this (forgot): The reason I posted this in this forum, Kudos and Compliments, is because I would basically like to compliment "B" for the great posts that she has contributed to DOD while apologizing for my mess up.
