DoD moderators!

Wow, I never really appreciated what you guys do for us until I took a look at the Almost Shoplifting forum. When I saw how they actually *promote* deal abuse (ie- posting ways to get around the limits set on deals by deleting cookies, etc) I'm really glad we have you guys around.

Thank you, moderators, from keeping DoD from becoming a haven for those people with little in the way of consciences.

I gave a lengthier reply in the chit-chat forum, where it is more appropriate.

Congrats to DOD's moderators~ you're doing well~ But do not throw your judgements on other people. The styles of moderation here and elsewhere are going to be different. This does not mean the mods here are saints, and the mods there are devils...
As for the members posting, I can tell you that there ARE people here at DOD who are just as eager to do anything for a buck as anyone else. If you're going to pick on people, pick on everyone or pick on no one.
(preferably no one.. take the road less traveled. get my meaning?)


Although I would like to comment more on this here, I am agreeing with Barbwalker here, and leaving my more "thorough" discussion for the chit-chat forum.

Well, I'm not sure if that meant me or not... I don't believe that I have ever told anyone how to live their lives or that we moderators are the best in any sort of fashion.

As a matter of fact, there have been times when its been moderator vs. moderator in disagreement over issues on this forum.. however, we use the Moderator forum to discuss things like this and to iron them out privately while working on ways to improve the site.

As for Barb, I think your posts about bashing other sites has been posted in a couple of locations and viewed by many.. hopefully they will see it and understand thus allowing them to move on.. the point has been taken, understood and appreciated.. at least by me. We are all human and once in awhile everyone makes the mistake of being critical about someone else and we might need a friendly reminder to get back in line.. that is everyone!

If you review my posts since I have been a member (Nov 99) you will find that I have tried to give a great deal of reassurance to the new members, congratulate and thank the members making posts and so-on. I'm not sure what else I am to do in order to be a better person and a successful moderator.
