| I have used DOD for the last few years--this forum has been a great source for MyPoints information. I want to let everyone know what MyPoints has done--to save everyone time and energy. Over the last year and a half, I have accumulated points mostly responding to emails, and I now have just over 5300 points. I was very excited to get a certificate for $50 somewhere, so I earned and waited very patiently. When I got to 5000 points about 2 months ago, I shopped around a bit looking at what was available. I saw several offers for $50 certificates for 5250 points. After I passed the 5250 just this week, I went in to redeem a certificate. Suddenly, there are NO offers for 5250. In fact, there is only one offer for 5750 points for a $50 certificate good at Bloomingdale's (in store only-closest store is 400 miles away). I was very upset, so I emailed them. Here is the correspondence: > Original Message Follows: > ------------------------ > Hello, I now have 5292 points availabe to spend, and the choices I have for spending appear to have changed since I crossed over the 5250 point mark. > In the last couple of months, I looked around to see what I could redeem for my points before I had reached 5250. I noticed a couple of offers I was interested in, and now that I have enough points, they are no longer offered!!! What is going on? > I went to the main front page for mypoints without being logged on, and the MyPoints Rewards description shows two offers for $50 certificates at Tower Records and Barnes and Noble for 5250 points. They are not a choice for me. I am very disappointed that the website appears to be "NOT REWARDING" me for my last couple of years accruing points!!!! > Please fix this for me! I have been a loyal member for several years, and I enjoy the offers you bring to my email. I would like to be able to have the same offers I had before I reached the "5250" accrual mark. Thank you, Trina Gardner (adtechno) > Dear Trina, > > Thank you for contacting MyPoints Member Care. > > Please note that you do not have to use all of your Points at once but may redeem for lesser Points for $5 or $10 certificates. > > The MyPoints program is the premier Rewards program of the Internet. The Points you earn, both on- and off-line, may be redeemed for a wide variety of merchandise, travel, and services from nationally known and trusted companies. All vendors are required to offer satisfaction guarantees, deliver in a timely manner and be accessible via the Web. > > You'll be eligible for some great offers. Frequent-flyer miles, long-distance credits, freebies - like great food, books, CDs, movie tickets, video rentals and more - just for receiving, reading or responding to email offers about things you're interested in. You need to have a minimum of 750 Points in your account before you can make your first redemption. > > For more information on how to redeem Points or for details on the redemption exchange values, take a look at the Spend Points section located at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] . > > If you have any further questions please write back and we will address them right away. > > Thank you for your support of the MyPoints program. > > Have a great day. > > Best regards, > > Francis S > MyPoints Member Care Blah...blah...I emailed them again: Original Message Follows: ------------------------ You did not respond to my concern. Again, I would like to have the same offers available to me to spend my points now that I have over 5250 points that I did when I had less than 5250 points. As I said, YOUR front page "advertisement" explaining the program-MyPoints Rewards without being logged on-shows two offers for $50 certificates at Tower Records and Barnes and Noble for 5250 points. They are NOW not a choice for me. This appears to be an attempt to lure people into the program under false advertising! I do not have one offer listed for 5250, now that I have over that amount. Again, please fix this! YOUR RESPONSE: "Please note that you do not have to use all of your Points at once but may redeem for lesser Points for $5 or $10 certificates." I intentionally WAITED AND SAVED the points I earned to be able to buy a $50 certificate for Christmas gifts. Obviously, the $5 and $10 certificates cost more points per dollar, which appears to be why you are "changing the deal." Thank you in advance for your time and energy in making arrangements to fix this situation. Again, as I said earlier, I have enjoyed being a member of MyPoints, and I would like to keep it that way. Thank you, Trina Gardner Here's their last response: Dear Trina, Thank you for contacting MyPoints Member Care. As the MyPoints Program has evolved during the past several years we have always prided ourselves on providing you the absolute best value for your Points each and every time you redeem. We understand that offering you the best return for your Points is extremely important. The decision to exclude some of our redemption items was made by our Redemption team for a variety of reasons. Thank you for your feedback concerning this matter. Please keep on the lookout for new and exciting earn and spend opportunities. If you have any additional questions or concerns please let us know. Thanks for your valued MyPoints Membership! Have a good weekend. Best regards, Peter MyPoints Member Care Has this happened to anyone? Is there anything I can do?

| Re: MyPoints Redemption This is a very old message board involving mypoints.com. I'm not very familiar with mypoints however based on your posts it sounds as if mypoints is practicing bad business. My speculation is supported by the company's(mypoints.com) unsatisfactory record on the Better Business Bureau's website (BBB.org.) Not a good sign. If anyone has a problem with a company that does not stand up to its promises may I suggest filing a report with the Better Business Bureau, your States's Attorney General, Federal Trade Commission (FTC.gov), ripoffreport.com. Unfortunately I see numerous businesses taking advantage of consumers. The above mentioned websites help consumers fight unprofessional businesses. I wish you luck. ~CF |

| Re: MyPoints Redemption Sounds as if pennstatecutie's 'rebuttal' is the result of he/she's paid affiliation with mypoints.com. Be wary of fake customers. Research research research! Check the Better Business Bureau (BBB.org.) Proof is in the pudding, mypoints.com has an "unsatisfactory record" per BBB. |

| Re: MyPoints Redemption excuse me? The only way I'm paid by them is with the rewards that I earn...just because they aren't highly rated on BBB doesn't mean that EVERYONE has had problems with them...in fact, when something comes to you as basically free (doing little-to-nothing to earn it, such as reading emails), you shouldn't be complaining...JMO though.
