If you're plus size, don't go to Kohls for a patriotic tee

I am soooooo disappointed with Kohls. I went there this morning specifically to get myself one or two of their patriotic t-shirts that are advertised in this week's sale paper for $5.00. I found hundreds in the Men's section, the boy's section, the girl's section, the Misses section, and even the smaller kid's section. But did they have any for plus size women? NO! I used to wear a 2x but am now down to a 1x. I actually felt discriminated against because I'm larger than a size 18! I walked out of the store with, literally, tears in my eyes. It wasn't just because of a stupid t-shirt, it was the principle of the thing.

I guess I should be used to it by now. It's the same way at major department stores that stick the "womens" section upstairs in a corner somewhere, totally separate from all the other clothes in the store, like we might somehow contaminate the Juniors section!

I fully intend on writing to Kohl's corporate headquarters to voice my disappointment. But if the person who reads the letter has never been a plus size, they won't understand.

I am sorry your store doesnt have them. I work for kohls as a stocker, and each store varies in stock. Please be aware that the shirts you describe do go up to size XL which is an 18. Call your store. Speak to the store manager. Voice your complaint. You can also go to

Thanks ftmom, I did see plenty of XL, but they're too small.

I wrote to the Corporate Headquarters and voiced my disappointment, anxious to see their response.
