| booyah! and that's what I'm talking about. 2catz1, you're going to extremes and speaking from being angry at me (for no reason whatsoever.) It was just a suggestion - you need to get over it and get on w/ life. Never said I was a mod and my post didn't imply the things you say it did. Here's a friendly suggestion - learn to let things just slide on by! If you don't like what was suggested (or said, or implied, or etc.) then don't bother w/ it. Life's too short to be mad at ppl you don't know! ![]()

| Admittedly I'm not in the habit of posting to forums, but simple common sense would dictate that someone inform "tschmitt" that his response to the person sharing the alleged Petco pet abuse info was inappropriate, at best. I'd logged on for the express purpose of viewing posts related to "Deal Talk---Compliments and Complaints"---and I'd venture to say that the initial Petco post, if factually accurate, most decidedly constitutes a "complaint"---one that should be shared with those of like mind who may wish to become involved. I happen to be an animal-rights activist and had somehow not heard this Petco story---the fact that I learned of it on a shopping-related site is a bit strange, but I was nonetheless apprised of a horrifying situation that needs to be addressed. I was certainly NOT in the mood to read the ravings of an anti-abortionist---doubtless there are untold numbers of forums in which he can vent his views on that topic. And I disagree that his response was not intended to offend or inflame; his tone is superior and sarcastic, to say the least---he writes "it would seem people on this board lack skills in understanding sentance structure" in his 2nd response (in which he defended his initial directive that "tcatz" should not mention organizations that he apparently doesn't support). It's very true that life is far too short for communications such as these; every now and then, though, I get my fill of misanthropes like tschmitt and simply must speak up. I've been reading posts on this site for quite some time---and his is the first---and only---negative and mean-spirited one I've encountered to date. I certainly hope it's the last. (PS to tschmitt: you might want to look up "sentance". Sarcasm is infinitely more effective when one spells his words correctly.) ![]() |

| Marcysong - wow, I haven't seen this post in awhile - in fact, I don't think that anyone remembered it. Just one of those that ruffled feathers and eventually fell out of favor amongst those of us who stayed on for awhile. I don't know what my post count was when I posted way back then, but you can see what it is now. I weathered that storm and many more since then - usually I've been on the receiving end for my views (yeah, yeah, I know - taking interest in preserving life these days isn't something "socially acceptable" but if you like to spend time trying to save hamsters which lack feelings, boy then you're perfect.) I read over what I wrote back then - and remembered *most* of the reason that I said what I did. I'll admit that I might have been a little bit harsh, with some poorly concealed sarcasm. However, I have to agree with you on the "superior" point - I do believe that I took the high road, defending human life and pointing out the lack thereof by PETA. If someone thinks that a hamster is more important than a person, well, I guess I just don't have the kind of respect for them that others might have - do you know what I mean? Now, I know, I know, the OP only "mentioned" PETA and I sorta took it and built it into a kite and flew it really high - my bad. Please excuse me and don't think bad of me...I made a mistake and admit it. Now, I've tried not to be superior in this post - if I have been, IYHO, then "Oops! I did it again" and I really must learn not to. I would however like to point out that your post reeks of superiority at the end. Let's put the petty squabbling behind us - thanks to the OP for bringing forth the story which apparently few knew of and let's make sure that we treat PETCO approprately if planning on buying from them in the future (by not doing so, obviously) - even I'm not so cruel as to do that to an animal ![]() Have a great day all! |
