A word of caution when you buy from the Esprit.com website. Even though sale items appear to be available on the website, they frequently are unavailable when it comes time to ship. What happened to me, my sister and a friend is that they calculate the shipping charges on the items they run out of! So, double check your bills from Esprit and make sure they are not charging you shipping on items you do not receive. |

Tankbetty...thanks so much for the info..sure enough when I looked at my shipping invoice they had also charged me shipping on cancelled leather jacket. I called customer service and she credited my account.

esprit has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Not only did they run out of the jacket but still chg. shipping, but they also sent a wrong item. When I called them about it, I spent a 1/2 hr. on the phone explaining my situation over & over again only NOT TO LEARN UNTIL THE VERY END THAT THE CARDIGAN WAS NOW OOS TOO! Now I have to sit around and wait for them to send me a return slip. And now I'm worried that they won't credit me correctly. I ranted & raved to their cust. service in an email. BOY AM I PEEVED AT THEM!!!! First when I placed my order LAST MONDAY and got to the "finalize purchase" page, there was no place to enter the coupon code. So I called the 800 number and the CSR had me go back and forth from page to page looking for the coupon box (I'm almost a professional online shopper, I think I can find the stinking coupon box if there is one!!!) So then she says "did you click on "finalize purchase" and I said "no because then my purchase will go through without the coupon" and she says "no, I think there's a page after this one" So I clicked on "finalize purchase" and surprise, surprise it finalized my purchase. So then she says that since she's the after-hours CSR she can't do anything about it, I'll have to call back in the morning. So I called back Tuesday and they told me that my order hadn't come through their system yet. So I called back Wednesday, same thing. Thursday, Friday and Monday, same thing, same thing, same thing. When I got home Monday afternoon, there was a package from them, containing 1 $7 t-shirt, and an invoice saying that the other 3 items I'd ordered were cancelled (and the t-shirt I got was the thing I really didn't want, but needed to bump my total up to use the coupon.) And guess what? My shipping for the $7 t-shirt was $8!!! Needless to say, I called and informed them that I'm returning the t-shirt and will be sending them a nasty note. To run out of items and cancel orders is one thing, but to charge shipping for items that you don't send is quite another. I wasn't too impressed with their customer service either! I also ordered the leather jacket and another skirt, and my confirmation email stated my total (did not say any item was out of stock.) Well of course I only received the skirt and when I called, the rep said "Oh, we have been out of the jacket for a LONG time!" I said, "So why did I receive a confirmation email stating I would receive the jacket?" and her wonderful reply was "Oh, I don't bother with trying to figure out all those computer errors." Oh really! Isn't that what ecommerce is all about? If that is their attitude, they should NOT be selling items online! Needless to say, I'm not impressed with their customer service or website! |

I can't believe you all have had so many problems with Esprits customer service. I just bought shoes from one of their outlet stores yesterday and they were just wonderful to me . Not to mention the $19.95 price I paid for $50 shoes. You all made me think twice about visiting my favorite store online......I was already weary about online shopping to begin with. Thanks for saving me some heartache! My pocketbook thanks you!

I have also shopped at both their B&M outlet store as well as the website. At the website, I had the same problem with the jacket being outof stock and being charged extra for shipping. However, I must say, I have NEVER had a problem at the B&M outlet. They really do have lovely clothes that are often insanely cheap. They have all kinds of sales which they send me postcards about and every Wednesday they have a 30% discount for students with valid ID (at the Birch Run, MI store.) Once I combined all deals and got a cashmere sweater for $12! So don't write them off completelym especially if you live in eastern Michigan. |

All I can say is that Esprit has me as a customer for life now. I love the clothes (better than I had anticipated), I had terrific experiences with customer service, and the prices on the sale items were outstanding. Esprit has me for life too! It helps that my sister is one of the managers at the Retail Outlet.... ^_^ Gosh, those Friends and Family discounts are deep!!! I agree though that they really need to up their web capabilities. What's with not having the order in the "system" for 24-48 hours? that's a CROCK! Well, It's okay, back to the good old BM for me. |
