Q West (aka Essential.com) may offer a great long distance rate, but their billing and customer service is some of the worst I've dealt with! This company didn't bill me for almost 3 months after I repeatedly requested a bill, and then they turn around and start billing me up to twice a month. But the best was when they went into my personal account and took their payment out without notification or authorization. I couldn't even get itemized bills from this company to know what I paid for.
I had a customer service rep who told me she couldn't help me with billing, it wasn't her job and she wouldn't even look up my account. Then she hangs up on me- buyer beware, please warn others if they think they're getting a deal, it's not.

Thanks for the warning! I was looking into switching to QWest, but now I will take a hard look before I decide!!

I switched to Qwest about 8 months ago. They have been very slow sending bills and posting payments so that every bill I get shows my payments as being late. They also neglected to post one of my payments altogether. However, when I've called them, they've been very nice and very helpful. They explained that they recently hired a company to process their payments. PReviously they were processing them themselves manually and that's why there were so many problems with the statements and payments. They say things should be better now. We'll see. In the meantime, I'm only paying 4.9 cents a minute for them 24/7 with no monthly fees or surcharges, so I'm really not complaining. They know they've had a problem and they do seem to be working to fix it. And, they're not charging anyone late charges since they know the problem is on their end.

i agree! qwest's CS stinks, and i don't like sending my cc#s online to them because their CS stinks, my 6 mo term is up in a week and i'm outta there! however they did send me TWO $50 checks which were happy additions to my savings account.

Hi, all. I'm asking for feedback regarding GTC Telecom as a long distance provider (4.9c/min).
We've signed up, but I'd like to know from u more experienced people.
