Okay, maybe not - here's what I wrote to their headquarters regarding my order that was placed and canceled by them this morning. I tried to purchase a filing cabinet from your site this morning only to find out AFTER my order was processed that Staples cannot deliver furniture outside of the "trading area." I called to find out exactly what this meant and after being put on hold over eight times by a customer service representative who didn't seem to know anything but the same phrase "we cannot ship outside our local trading area," I was told "sorry." My issues: 1) NO WHERE, NO WHERE, NO WHERE does it say on your site that furniture cannot be delivered except to certain areas because you are not "contracted" with UPS to deliver furniture. Which I don't understand because I have had 50 lb boxes delivered by UPS and this is merely a filing cabinet in question. 2) I was told by this rep. that when I logged in, it should've told me that I couldnt buy this item, but when I tried to do it again while on hold, sure enough, your system was going to let me do it again. 3) "Sorry for the inconvenience" in no way makes up for wasting over an hour and a half of my time while placing the now-canceled order, or the half hour I spent on hold. The rep. offered to find me something through the "special order catalogue" that could be delivered, and I would like to know why, if you can have that furniture delivered to me, why not this item? This makes no sense and no one from your company either knew, or was willing to communicate why this is. 4) After speaking with "Mike" the rep's "supervisor" he also said "sorry, nothing we can do" unless I wanted it shipped to Pueblo and drive down there to get it (which is 4 hours away from me!!!) 5) Denver is a pretty large city with an inordinate amount of businesses, and I can tell that you won't be getting any business from them, unless you will deliver for businesses but not individuals. 6) I am extremely angry - this is the second time I have had disastrous experiences with your company and the last time I will ever do any business with you again. (Signature) I am so livid that I think my face is as red as the little mad icon face!!!! Staples should have had their computer system working correctly after their last fiasco, but nooooo, of course not. They just want to keep making everyone miserable. I should have known better than to try and order from this company again, but now I know I'll never make this mistake EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER AGAIN!! ![]() [This message has been edited by ang379 (edited 03-31-2000).] |

Staples is on my S.L. Please review the following: 1. Refused to honor discount coupon on scanner. 2. Refused to honor price match for scanner. 3. Refused to credit my CC when I cancelled scanner order and refused delivery. I discovered later they lost the scanner. 4. Have not gotten rebate requested in 12/99. Another Family Blunder. |

Ouch, that hurts. Staples is showing a record of pulling out of everything, from the rebates, stock on hand during Charmin disaster, orders in general, my neighbor had her order for the 3 free office supplies canceled, and the list goes on.... I thought I was mad, but at least I wasn't out any $, just patience and a good deal. Sorry to hear they did that to you ![]() Have you disputed the charge w/ your cc company yet? Maybe they'll take action if Staples won't. Hope it works out. |

I remember way back last year, when they cancelled all those orders that we used coupons on (and it accepted them!) I guess I amazingly got my order, but that seemed to be the start of a serious lapse in CS for these guys. I don't think I'd bother with them again.

Try OfficeMax.com. I've placed about a dozen orders with them and always received my product quickly and accurately. They are also adding all kinds of great partners for the small business person. Check them out.

I am not happy with staples.com at all. I did the attache case deal and when it arrived it was broken! The handles on the case are ripped. I won't be able to use it. I also bought a pencil and it was broken. Was anyone else's ripped?

Mine bag was fine - my box of pens was mangled. I would call Staples and have them send you a new bag when they're back in stock. Or if you have a B&M Staples, you could go into exachange it. What a pain though, huh? Sorry.
