While this site can be a lot of fun (becuase they have quick 30 minute auctions) I won't shop here anymore. I've noticed their suggested Retail Prices can be GROSSLY overstated (as I discovered too late on an Omaha Steaks purchase--$40 overstated). I did get 1 terrific deal ($17 for a pot rack) but it took them sooooooo long to send my items (about triple their stated turnaround.) Customer service is not very helpful (or prompt). Also, this site is a sister to "Home Shopping Network" on TV and I've seen some of the same products cheaper on the TV. Plus, they can really get you on the S/H.

I agree on the S/H part! I've won a few jewelry items from FirstAuction and would you believe they charge $4.99 for something that would have cost less than a dollar to ship? Arg.

I have a good thing to report about this site, though. Something I won never arrived so I emailed them about it, and they offered to reimburse me or to replace the missing product. Turns out that the item was no longer available so they took the charge off of my CC. No questions asked.

The only time I have actually gone through with an order from FA was during their sale last July. Since their parent company also has an annual Christmas-in-July sale that coincided with the online sale, I'm willing to be they'll do it again.

During the sale, you could order as many of a particular item with $1 total shipping. I got some nice footie pj's, 2 flannel nighties and 2 pairs of gloves for a total of $20. So keep an eye out during July!

I agree that they take so long to ship, and I only purchase at the Flash Auction, when I know its a great deal. I've gotten a Krups Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker for a total of $24.95(with shipping) EVERY place I looked the exact same coffee maker was over $80 and a couple of Polartec Throws for a total of $6.95. I would probably do it again, if I was not in a hurry and I found another great deal there.
