Another one down

On Wednesday, October 23, 2002, our ConsumerAisles experiment will be
ending and the ConsumerAisles store will be closing.

Beginning October 23, we will not be accepting any new orders. Any orders
placed before October 23, will be filled and shipped as usual. If you
have any questions about an order you have placed, contact me at
((edit out e-mail))

If you are planning to redeem manufacturers coupons on an order you have
placed recently, please send them in immediately. We will no longer be
able to credit your account for manufacturers coupons after November 5,
2002.

Thanks very much for your participation and support! I hope you have
enjoyed the ConsumerAisles shopping experience.

I got the same email. This is really too bad. I thought that this idea was great! I LOVE to browse the aisles in B&M's looking for things I didn't know I needed and this site let you do that.

The downside was the prices were a lot higher than I pay locally, their selection was limited, and it really was a hassle to redeem coupons.


Let's hope that this just ended the "trial" period and that they've now worked out the details and will be opening a "real" site soon!

Yeppers..got this email the other day also...I too liked the underlining idea, but the prices and headaches just weren't worth it for me.

I never figured out how they could operate. The only times I ordered from them was with a coupon/free shipping and I could get something for free, or nearly free. How they expected to compete against local stores with coupons, sales, club cards, etc. is beyond me. And personally I thought the "aisles" thing was difficult to use. Oh, well, I got my freebies from them!
