I am sick and tired of seeing my posts on other boards - they dont even have the decency to SAY it is borrowed. I never just cut and paste a post, for one its against the copyright law, and 2nd it's RUDE, taking credit for someone elses work... GRRR It wouldnt be so bad if people would change the post - they dont even do that -- From now on Im signing my name to my posts RIGHT SMACK dab in the middle of the post LOL .. OK Im through gripping now.

I only go to this and one other board (and the other board rarely has anything for d-a-y-s at a time), so I haven't noticed. I would be ticked too......if all my work was being passed off by someone claiming it as theirs....nervy.

I don't think your posts, from these boards, are covered by copyright law unless you have them actually copyrighted.

But, I do understand your point. In the past, I have taken some good deals or other information from different message boards, when I felt they were worthwhile of reposting. But, I always try to give credit where credit is due. I'll say, "thanks to xyz member at xyz site for finding this deal" or something similar. It's only the courteous thing to do.

There is a crime forum that I lurk at sometimes and things got so out of hand because of people posting what others posted somewhere else that they started putting a copyright type sentence at the bottom.

They would put something to the fact that this post may not be copied or used anywhere else without permission. I know that people could still take it, as rude as it is, giving you no credit but if you put that at the bottom of your post,they may think twice about it next time. at least they would know that you know that they are doing it.

I get a kick out of watching one that I hunted down from a search engine (sometimes I even put in an extra period or " just to see it make the rounds!!) I know...I'm bored. I only go to four other places.

Now if it was an Opinion,theory or story I wrote-of course I would want credit. Otherwise I figure the internet is public domain-share the wealth so to speak

On a different note when I go to any search engine and put in keywords it brings up the same old stuff......I've searched for 45 minutes and came up with.....zero new stuff.

I would appreciate any hints on effective searching anyone can give. I usually use google or dogpile,key in free sample,free subscription,new offer....hit omit the words win or printable.

If you're registered on those boards, send a PM or email asking that they give credit where it's due. Well, I guess that might not always be easy since what if that person copied from another place and thanks thief #1.

It's fun to find the deal while you're surfing, but there are lots of deals posted elsewhere. Why not borrow them?? I have seen my posts word for word, too and I guess I feel like the thief (hehe) should have the courtesy to leave out the "personal touches" . lol

It's all good! I just hate to see a deal exploding somewhere else and when it does get here, our members say "I did that the other day and it worked great.". Uh...why didn't you post????Argh! So if this is you...jump in and post or email a deal finder and they will post. (I know some people don't like to post...) This is a big reason why I even go to any other board. To get these deals that other people are jumping on , but not bringing here!!

(In busy times I'm sure I have forgotten to post a deal I saw elsewhere so I am guilty, too, but trying to change that.)

Let's just get the best deals here.

Well i just had to come on in, I understand what you are saying Mayor, but i also see a great deals of post here than are word for word from another site I go to, So turn about is fare play, So alot of those here have copy rights to.

Tons of the freebies are from some other place. Not saying everyone does this but some people do.
But when you go to one place then come here and it is not here then later it is here word for word from another place, well, It happens here to, lol.
I just enjoy getting them no matter where they are or who posted first.

No need to be mad, just think of it like they do at other places when there post if posted here word for word, It must be a realy good post

If people are copying posts from other sites to post here, it needs to stop. I don't subscribe to the "everyone is doing it" mentality. If you find a good deal elsewhere, by all means, post it. But be sure to change the original wording so that it is not an infringement.
