DOD &pop-ups

what is the deal with the pop-ups when i come to DOD?

I'm not sure what's going on, but I get the same thing when I get on here too.

Couldn't logon to DOD yesterday, now I'm getting the pop-ups...gozing and others that paste themselves into the middle of the page...BIG SIGH....SUPER BIG SIGH...is this the wave of the future? I had to keep refreshing after I closed the popup in order for the page to even load...I'm all for making a buck, but you could have warned us that these were coming...I haven't had one popup ever that didn't wreak havoc with my puter!

I posted about this question under the Ask the Moderators topic. It's happened before, but the pop ups this time aren't as huge as the last several times, so I wondered if DOD had changed their pop up policy. Nope. They aren't supposed to be here. It's not being done by Deal of Day and I think it's cruddy that some outside person can invade a nice pop-up-free site with their garbage.

this is just a test so far, and mayor will be posting about it shortly i presume....we're always trying to find new ways to make DOD the best place ever, although no word yet on whether the pop-ups are going or staying...sorry 'bout that, just a test for now though so no worries!!
