I noticed that your news feature has changed this morning. I also notice that now we can't access it without joining the Wall Street Journal and getting a login name and password. After a free trial, then what? How come you guys went this route? I get free news everywhere but it was nice to have the e-tailer news right on DoD where I could read it before going into the forums. What happened? Boo Hisssss.... |

Sorry folks! I've been meaning to recode the system to pull Wall Street Journal, as well as New York Times as they are pay feeds. I'll be working on it tonight to parse them out. Way I feel is someone else always posts news on the same line as then, so having them gone won't be a big deal.. ![]() Other wise then those two bad apples, the news updates every 5 minutes through the day from tons of leading news sites. So you can look forward to around 10 - 15 fresh news stories in each section every day from verious sources. So what ya' think? Thumbs up or thumbs down? ![]() Scott-- |

| Search in News?
Is there search feature in the NEWS section? I used the DOD home page search option looking for "Bugle Boy" and it directed me to the news section but when I got to this section, I didn't see anyway to locate the article. I have to say that I like the old News format better. Now there are no dates posted for the articles (or maybe they are all from today) and just the headlines are printed. In the old format, you could see a few lines of text from the article to preview the contents and the articles were clearly marked with dates. Although less comphrehensive, the old format also looked more appealing. Since someone mentioned something about NYT and WSJ, maybe DOD's focus is the corporate client which is fine. I just enjoyed the former news section more. |

I cant access your News features again today. It gives me an error message of access denied, contact the bitz or something like that. Just thought you'd like to know.
