Banned?

Call this a crazy question... But since I'm fairly new... what does the word 'Banned' under a persons name mean? Does it mean that they are Banned from DOD?

I've seen this a few times and was just wondering!

Yes, that is exactly what it means. They can no longer post or participate in our forums.

The reason for this is mainly because they were spamming, despite repeated warnings of the rules. We have some people who sign up for the sole purpose of trying to get away with spamming.

Very welcome, not a problem or nosy at all.

We really do not like to have to ban someone, however, we are sometimes left with no other choice. We do try other options first, such as sending a message to point out the person's error and the site rules and etc. So please don't think we are mean or anything, we really aren't.

The only time we usually ban someone right away without trying other options first is when a spammer signs up for the sole purpose of spamming, but then you usually won't see their posts, because they get deleted.
