Greetings Deal Seekers, Deal Master, Senior Deal Masters, and Deal Hunters of every shape and size!

It is I, the Mayor.. the Deal King.. the Head Honcho.. the Big Kahuna.. Mayor McCheese... speaking to you live from atop the Internet Hotel in magnificent WorldVillage.

I am pleased to deliver the January 2000 Deal of Day State of the Union address

(trumpets blaring... flags waving... tears slowing streaming down faces... LOL!)

Anyway, I wanted to take a few moments to thank each of you for being part of our fine community. After all, our message boards are empty without you posting your deals, comments, rants, and kudos, and a bargain is ultimately useless unless you are there to take advantage of it!

So thank you for making Deal of Day one of the top 2000 sites on the Internet in just 3 months!

With that said, I'd like you to know that we are hard at work to bring you more of what you are seeking for your online shopping experience.

Here are some of the things that have happened recently...

1) We now have ten moderators for Deal Talk. The nice people volunteer their time, simply for the love of the game. Please be nice to them as they are on your team. :-)

2) We now seek to post as many daily deals as humanly possible. Please realize that we occasionally make mistakes by posting erroneous coupon codes or expired deals. And I greatly appreciate those of you who email me to tell us of bad listings AND new deals! A hearty "thank you" goes out to Statchmo, the Deal Queen, for carrying much of the deal-posting load the past couple months.

3) We are working on a point reward system that will earn you goodies when you take advantage of deals that you link to through Deal of Day! More on this as it develops further...

4) Our newsletter is now up to over 28,000 subscribers and is growing quickly. We encourage each one of you to visit our referral page and input email addresses of those whom you would like to tell about Deal of Day. For each address you enter, you receive another chance to receive the prize for that month's sweepstakes! this month, it is a brand new Nintendo 64 game unit!

And that about wraps it up for this month. Please continue visiting each day for the best bargains, coupons, discounts and deals, and we will uphold our end of the bargain by providing you with the most comprehensive deal site on the web!

Kudos to you Mayor and everyone else @ DOD and Worldvillage...we wouldn't have this great place without all of you.

Thanks for the updates on DOD. I know that since October, I've gotten some great freebies, saved lots of money and have even met some neat people, some of which are now lifelong friends.

Thanks to you, the users too, without you as well, DOD wouldn't be where it is in Internet statisic land...
