Love Re: Good way to clean silver jewelry and other silver

[B]KAT:

Your info on how to clean silver is marvelous. I've bought liquid and cloth for cleaning silver and none worked. I have lots of silver jewelry and some are badly tarnished. You're very correct on items which did not clean on the first soaking....I did not changed the water w/salt/aluminum..just leave the one which still has tarnished part, a bit longer and it's gone after soaking a little longer. Funny, I used my stainless fork to "fork out" the pieces (all my stainless spoons/forks/knives have accumulated "dirt"/black residue in the design etching, maybe from coffee, etc.) had also been "cleaned", so I'll clean all my stainless wares same way too.

Another "help" for everyone who can: I have silver jewelry w/ semi-precious stones like saphire, emeralds, pearls, etc. DO YOU KNOW IF NOT, TO ANYBODY WHO KNOWS, if it is OK to soak these jewelry in same solution. I will appreciate for any help on this matter. Thank you.
