| Re: Do you believe?
You know I'm not here to debate, so please keep in mind what I'm posting is only my opinion and story. Everyone is and should be entitled to whatever their beliefs are.
I had a horrible life. I did not believe in God. I believed there was just someone that was a nice guy named Jesus long ago that people made up stories about. I believed people believed in God only because they were hopeless in life.
Well fast forward to years and years of horrible living. I mean everything you can possibly name that could go wrong did. From financial, family, to deadly disease, and everything in between. Since I was bound to a hospital bed for month I figured I'd read the bible not because I believe it, but because I think it's an important historical document.
I recommend reading it cover to cover, in order, starting with the old Testament. Many things during the first quarter may seem ridiculous, but everthing in the story comes together in a whole. Long story short, not only do I believe in God and the bible, after reading it I realized it's not possible for it not to be real. Trust me I'm a very logical person so for me to say that about anything is pretty amazing. I recommend the New Living Translation in that the tough words are adapted to how we talk in present time.
