Home Depot (and probably other stores) sells a product called Terro. They're clear baits with a boric acid solution in them. You cut a thin strip from the bottom and lay it flat where you see ants. The ants crawl in, take the solution back to their colony and they die off. I've used everything and have had countless exterminators come in to spray (which I can't stand). My neighbor recommended this to us and we bought it last year. It will attract a lot of ants in the beginning but they will eventually die off. I love this. I just bought some more today because I saw a few ants in the bathroom and plan on putting them around.
